Family Day 2006 - Tigers Picnic in the Park

Just received this in my email:

2006 Tigers' Picnic in the Park

Due to Commonwealth Games parking restrictions rendering Punt Road Oval unavailable to stage the annual Family Day, Richmond will be holding this years' event at:

Venue: Jells Park
Wheelers Hill
Date: Sunday March 19
Time: 10.30am to 3pm

The event will be located near the Tea House, with parking available at the North Entrance Car Park.

Pack a picnic basket and rug and enjoy a wonderful afternoon of entertainment, featuring:

. Players Guernsey presentation
. Player autograph and photo booths
. Live music
. Inflatable rides and footy activities
. New activity - 'Dunk a Player!'
. Food and drinks available to purchase
. Membership and merchandise on-sale

What better way to take the Tigers out into the community and stage this wonderful family event in the south eastern suburbs, a traditional Richmond heartland area.

For all members and supporters planning to attend the picnic, access into Jells Park will be off Waverley Road at the North Entry (Melways reference 71 K7).

Entry to the event is gold coin donation and it will be a great chance for families to meet their Tiger heroes.

We look forward to seeing you there.

 :rollin Pity they didn't have "dunk a Coach"  under our previous coaching panel. The club would have made a packet and would be debt free with massive cash reserves.

I was hoping for Wesley College in Glen Waverley but I suppose I'll have to sacrifice (lol) the extra 7 minutes to drive down and get a park down at Jells. Might go have a game of Golf as well. A quick nine holes and then a couple of beers to boot- sounds good actually!

Would have loved to be there today but we have a something else on this afternoon and Wheelers HIll was a little far for me to make it back in time.

Just got back - thousands and thousands of people - well a few thousand.  Biggest family day i've ever been to - and am predicting they will hold it there every year from now on.

The SE of melbourne is Richmonds major support zone. We should be harnessing our support out there and we certainly shouldnt allow Hawthorn to do whatever they want out there. Richmond should sell up the Wantirna Club and find another venue in the Glen Waverley area...a pub, a club like the Waverley RSL would be alright (as an example), the club should also look at Central Reseve to play reserves games. I really believe as a club we should do that. We have no future with Coburg in terms of reserves. Richmonds future is out in the SE for mine...atleast in terms of support anyway!

Great weather, great day, great turnout, as you said Moi, biggest crowd i've seen at a family day too.
The band were good, stood in line to have my pic taken with Browny, Richo and Stafford, unfortunately I was next in line after a cute as a button 12 month old girl with black and yellow ribbons in her hair lol. I said sorry guys i'm not as cute as that little one, Browny turned and said "Oh I dont know you're pretty cute" lolol.    My new favorite player maybe  :P
Another highlight was the Krispy Kreme donuts..how good are they???
Hope the young fella on the dunk a player doent get sick with a cold for round one, he was freezing!

Cleve was on the dunking thing for a while, and he was shivering. When he got off he said it was freezing.
