For clarity, In the football world according to WAT, backmen who shut down their opponent, but get few disposals, are not doing their job.

Yet he doesnt want players who can accumulate and dispose of the ball at a high level in the backline.

A midfielder can shut down his opponent and not get mant many disposals, and regularily butcher it when he does get it, and that is doing his job.

A ruckman can jump and get first hands to the ball, then just stand by watching and get very few disposals, and that is doing his job.

The phrase "doing his job" is all that is required to defend any criticism of a player he has a man crush on, irrespective of how valid those criticisms are. It is a magic catch all phrase that is all that is needed to justify his stance, one that circumnavigates the need to assess actually what "his job" entails.

Sounds more like a netball game

Do netball players need to look at the ball as they pass it?

Not sure, we should probably wait for the expert to advise

It sounds like fantasy land
“I find it nearly impossible to make those judgments, but he is certainly up there with the really important ones, he is certainly up there with the Francis Bourkes and the Royce Harts and the Kevin Bartlett and the Kevin Sheedys, there is no doubt about that,” Balme said.

Watched the replay from yesterday
He actually had a decent crack yesterday
Has had a good 4-5 weeks
Only player this week for the Tiges to get over 100 ranking points on Champion Data

He always has a crack, that is never the issue.

He is a hack footballer who has average disposal and makes poor decisions.

Admittedly he hasnt been as shiete in the latter part of the season, but he is not the future.

May be a handy bloke to lead by example in terms of having crack, in the VFL and as a stop gap for a bad injury run in the seniors, but thats about it.

I like his one-two's to pad his stats that usually get turned over or put someone under more pressure than he already was. Oh and a backman having a crack laid 1 tackle? Seems to me he pushes hard when it suits him.

Oh and comparing his stats to Jack is purely trolling no other way about it. Hunt couldn't get away from the ball the way the ball was coming in yet Jack had nuffies kicking the ball every which way but forward and when it did go forward it hardly ever went near him let alone his advantage. If you went to the game you would have seen how hard Jack worked to lead into good positions only for someone else to stuff it up

Barring a severe injury crisis beyond even Footscray proportions, this bloke really shouldn't be making it out of the VFL next year if the club has any serious intention of moving forward. Liability.
