Just as long as you don't start blaming Wallace for our list, Jack.
The only players that seem to have a go are the kids - same as last year.  He's getting something out of them at least, even if the senior players are crap.
You tell us how you fix it.
Do you tank it for a season and get some easy picks and totally destroy the faith of the Tiger faithful, or do you just keep on plodding with what you've got to work with (which ain't much) and finish a mediocre 9th again.
It is a real dilemma IMO and not one easily fixed, hence what Wallace was going on about last week about our expectations.  We have to get realistic one day and look at it exactly where we are, and that's still a couple/few years away.  No-one is disagreeing with you about our performance - we make terrible basic skill errors, but it's mostly coming from our seniors.  And if your seasoned players are playing like that, what hope do the rest of them have.
It is totally unrealistic to judge a season on one game.  IMO, I saw a lot worse from about 10 other teams on the weekend.

Not judging on one game
Am lloking from mid season last year to now.
Dont think we have won many games in that time.

Someone will tell me how many games we have won since round 12 last year, its not many and its not going to improve either

Would have been nice if you'd answered my question instead of regurgitating the bleeding obvious  :banghead

I will tell you, not tonite though, am going to bed.
To be blunt, the senior players arent playing there nutural game.
Was Kane Johnson ever an on baller, NO!
The game plan we play doesnt suit the majority of our players.
We are trying to play run and chip etc.
If you watched the saints on friday nite, they released players into space eg Montagna ,Fiora etc.
Our players dont spread enough at stoppages.
They also present to close to the contest.
As I said, the game plan stinks in my opinion.
Eg Bowden kicking the ball 25 metres.etc

i just got home
im stuffed
drained
but in the mood to kill someone.

questions i want to ask

why di sugar kick the pill 50 metres deep into teh blues fwd 50 in the very first clearance............that set the standard......gr8 captain......not

gaspar may have beat big red b8ut come on , he stinks. he cost us the game, game away many easy goals because he paid no respect to his new opponent in waite.

whats hith the f u c $%^&*( handballs that continually hit players ankles

whats with pettifer trying to fake free kicks during critical times, rather than going hard 4 the ball

whats with this game plan, what plan, 100 more possessions than them and still get beat

why cant we still bury sides, 29 pts up and looking ok and then fall apart

at least we cant blame tivendale nor krak today, they were our best players .

but i have faith, we will come good in 6 yrs time

my prediction is by rnd 12 , terry will run out of excuses, and the rumblings wil begin

not enough tiger men at the club, too many ex bulldogs

f em
hate em

i have had it, next week the swans will murder us

17 more scoring shots is a big discrepancy.
We were unable to get it out from the centre square from half way through the third quarter at all. At the stoppages we were beaten by a team who wanted it more desperately than we did when the game was up for grabs. The only centre break Johnson got when 60 metres Carltons way. Our game play and skill level has remained stagnant for the last 25 years. Kick it at the bootlaces of a 6 foot 4 guy running at full pace. Terry has us playing a Bulldogs circa 1998 game plan when clearly we do not have the skill capabilities to conjucively play this. A win tonight would have at least set us up nicely after all the negative vibes. 27 points up with a 3 on 1 situation within our 50 and a chance to go 33 up and our men couldn't hit a target and Carlton got the goal to bring them bank. Game changed after that. Carlton got the run on Tigers stagnated and Terry was outcoached. Surely after two qick goals to start the second half we could have gone on with it. Not us. Can Terry please leave this media friendly persona he has by conducting press conference over any AFL issue or taking players into the post match press conferences and just full time coach the team b/c that is what we a re paying him to do. Terry is a better salesman than coach currently. He has sold the board on his plans and many of the supporters.
As for your comments Ramps. Totally agree with you mate. Overestimation of our team and youngsters. Carlton are ahead of us in terms of their youngsters development and with the way the system is you need to be a bottom 4 side for about 5 seasons to reap the benefits of the draft in order to have a successful side. Our draw is horrific looking at it. The only team I can see us having a chance to beat in the first 8 games is Collingwood in round 3. It will be a long and bleak year ahead of us. I am just sick of hearing 3-4 yrs down the track we will have our window of opportunity. I can recall Greg Miller saying something similar after a horrific loss to the Pies in 2003. We are the butt of all footy jokes. Two finals appearances in a quarter of the century. Even Fitzroy who no longer exist as a single entity have had more finals appearances than us since 1982.
Just continues to be a sad sad sad state of affairs.
I am gutted devastated you name it. I feel like crap right now.

Actually for the life of me I don't understand why the didn't throw Krak in the middle more today - he looks fitter than he ever has and I thought when we getting thumped inthe clearances we should tried him there

Actually there were quite a few things that left me...........er............perplexed

ok guys now its my turn !

i just got home from the football too ...

what can i say ...

everything on this thread is what i'm thinking !

but of course i have things to say ...

i am going to try and point out who was at least ok tonight ...

carlton are poo ... (FULL STOP)

and if we can't beat them ...

well ... whats lower then poo ???

i don't know ...

its going to be another long "FULL OF poo" year ...

to tell you the truth ... i am upset at Terry Wallace ...

i am sick and tired of his rubbish ... as well as the players saying their predictions ...

anyone that says "its only round 1" ... don't you dare critise richmond at all this year ...

this is going to get worse ... and worse and worse ...

i agree with some people on here that said we will finish bottom 4 ...

i never thought we would make the f..... (i will never say that word towards richmond untill we are there)

this year ... i only predicticted using that ladder predicitor ...

but in my heart and head ... i know we aren't going to be there ...

back to Terry ...

Terry should shut the f*** up ... just shut your f***ing face ...

you keep talking up our chances and we go and play like this ...

the match was over in the 3rd quarter when we were leading ...

i could see it in the players ...

NO F***ING HEART ...

there are some who do have ... but its the team ...

Terry is trying ... no doubt ... and you no what ... is doing better then the last coach we had ...

but Terry ... STOP TALKING UP PUR CHANCES ... SAY F***ING NOTHING ...

to me ... all the pre-season work was what ??? a waste ???

where was the improvement ??? did anyone see it ???

our midfield was meant to be in fine fit condition ???

they out ran us ... BY THE 3RD QUARTER !!!

have i lost faith ... NO ...

i am pretty disapointed ...

they smashed us really ... the scoreboard says it !!!

40 - 25 scoring shots + fev's 2 out on the full ... 42 - 25 ...

there midfield more clearences ...

Nick Stevens ... Best on Ground ... killed us yet again ...

i am just really sick of richmond talking rubbish and playing like that ...

now i CBF talking about each players match but who i thought was ok ...

Richardson, Jay, Howat, Tivendale, Polo ...

WHY THE F*** DIDN'T TERRY LEAVE HOWAT ON THAT WING ???

i hardly didn't see him after half-time !

Johnson ... your bad ...

Moore and McGuane "F*** OFF"

Gaspar "F*** OFF"

Pattison ??? where the f*** were you tonight !

Andrew Raines got beaten tonight ...

Tambling ... YOUR VERY BAD

AND THIS PLAYER

BRETT DELEDIO !

what the hell is he doing ??? is he doing anything at all ???

where is this gun player that people are talking about ???

he has got what i call the "RICHMOND DISEASE"

DELEDIO PULL YOUR F***EN FINGER OUT !

Kayne Pettifer, i see now why people call you a GIRL !

go for the football and not the free kick ...

one-on-one with Gibbs and you played for the free kick you f***ing idiot !

Chris Newman ... not bad ...

Foley had 16 touches at quarter time ... he was going good ...

but what happened ??? i didn't see him in the centre after that ???

Joel Bowden you are poo ... as well as your brother FULL STOP ...

you getting 2 All-Australians is a joke ...

did anyone see the BOMBERS play today ???

I DIDN'T SEE THEM ... i just read the scores and i knew EXACTLY how they played !

why is it that our players seem to not give a F*** ???

NO HEART RICHMOND ...

if they don't learn from this match ... we're gone ...

the turnovers in the backline ???

wtf ???

our plan was so bad ... short passing isn't our game style ...

we lack a plan and a structure up forward still !

who is in charge of our midfield ??? Royal ???

wtf is he doing ???

where is our hard running, creating players ???

foley was that player but just left after that 1st quarter !

he was our link up player !

GET JAKE KING IN THE TEAM ...

GET ANDREW RAINES IN THE MIDFIELD NOW ...

that will free him up ...

Kane Johnson on the half-back line ...

Johnson should never play  in the midfield ...

forget tagging ...

try to win the ball and kick goals ...

RICHMOND: GOALS WIN YOU MATCHES NOT POSESSIONS !!!

just kick goals ...

Andrew Krakouer ... when he was in the midfield at the bounce he won about 3-4 balls ...

get him in there !

use Krakouer for the bounce ... thats it !

Tuck ... wtf ... i don't understand him anymore ???

05 he was kicking it 100 metres ... now he is not kicking it at all ...

chris hyde should be our tagger ...

ok ... i am over this ... LMAO ...

a BAD loss ... is this worse then our start against the bulldogs ???

thats 3 bad starts in the 1st match under Terry Wallace !

05: Geelong 83 pts
06: W/B 100+ pts
07: Carlton 17 pts ... but we know how bad that was ...

The Richmond Football Club Is A Joke ... because our players have ...

NO HEART !

Yes Torch 3rd season 3rd forst round loss for TW
2005   Richmond 15 8 98 Geelong 25 10 160    62 points
2006   W B'dogs 25 17 167  Richmond 7 10 52  115 points
2007   Carlton    15 25 115  Richmond 15 8 98    17 points

3 first round losses avg loss 65 pts
Agree with you Torch. Terry please shut up and do your job, coach the side.
Paul Roos aint media savvy and he does not need to be as generally his side is in the news for all the right reasons.
Please shut up TW and stop all those useless mid week press conferences on nothing and spend it on the betterment of the players psyche on your list.
Terry with all this crap we are all bark but no bite. Pls do not come out this week and vow to us that we will play 4 qtrs v Swans with no 2nd half fadeouts and lose by 10 pts and then tell us we were brave and you were happy with our committment and young player development.
SHUT THE F*** UP AND WIN.
