Knighta was an awesome player (had his number on my guensey) with a huge heart and he bled for Richmond, but just don't know what creds he has as a coach.

sheedy wants knighter to succeed him at essendon, thats how good he is

we lose all our best ppl to other clubs

Sheedy does not want knights to succeed him at Essendon, Sheedy knows that Knights respects and admires him and wont shaft him from behind.

If we end up say 4 an 18 for the season, do we get to the stage where we have 1 final tilt at Kevin Sheedy. Do we pay out Wallace and take the pain financially. YES or NO?

NO, big mistake if we did that.

1. We need to honour our obligations
2. We are losing yes, but the side is probably better than what it was last year.
3. There's still a few more players that need shafting before Wallace.
4. Sheedy's next job will be with the AFL.

Question has to be asked why have good Richmond people left the club? Eg Knights etc. and we get non-richmond people running the show.
Thats why our culture is stuffed!

Good people leave every club.
If you mean the coach as in running the show, same as 13 other clubs. Of the other 2, Paul Roos has assistants who are good people from other clubs.

I also think that we should honour Wallace's contract.

Looking back on things, when we actually appointed Wallace it should have only been for 3 years with maybe a 2 year option.

This would make him a little more hungry.

I think Wallace should spend more time doing things that are going to make us successful rather than doing all of the publicity stuff. I know the club loves it but we dont need it.

We all know that a successful Richmond outfit will put bums on seats equal to or greater than any club in the league.

What i do think we should look at doing is big money to someone like Scott Clayton who can help us draft the right players that we need to build a powerhouse. We need to work on recruiting.

Seriously how long can Greg Miller live on the back of recruiting Wayne Carey.

Wow, he got one right  ;D :wallywink

Conversely you could argue a 3 year deal would only make the coach think short term to save his own neck. Hunger should automatically be part of a coach's professionalism.

Agree Bully. Especially now we're 0-3 and how we've fallen away in all 3 games. The focus needs to be on the team. According to Ch 9 news we had a crisis meeting today.

Not a bad idea. Whatever we can do to pump more money into our recruiting we should do it. Every club lives and dies by their recruiting.

The dogs game is a massive test for us just from a self-belief viewpoint. Probably the most important game for us in a long long time. If we believed before Friday night that we were mentally soft then how fragile will the team's state of mind be now. I hope some home truths were spoken at the crisis team meeting and each player individually as well as collectively were told exactly where they are at before they were asked what they are going to do about it next week. It's a crunch game although I don't want us to make it the "crunch" game. We need to learn to win and without any silly gimmicks. Show some pride and belief in yourself as well as in each other.
