Inspirational Richmond ruckman Ivan Maric provided an interesting insight into what makes him tick on this week’s episode of the Club’s official podcast, ‘Talking Tigers’. Here are Maric’s well-considered opinions on a variety of football-related matters . . .

On his form this season

“There was a month there where it was really hard against some very good ruckmen, with (Aaron) Sandilands and (Nic) Natanui . . . (Shaun) Hampson coming in to give us a bit of a hand was really good.  I’ve focused on trying to impact up forward, so that’s been good the last month or so (five goals in his past five games). I’m just trying to be really consistent.”

We can't play Maric against Goldstein.  That's just asking to be slaughtered.  The Hampster should be the choice against Nought.  It might even freshen Ivan up for the next week.

Hampster? massive pass from me. He should never pull on our jumper again! Has done nothing the last few weeks at VFL level and has the worst attitude towards his fellow players

I know it was a practice game but I thought he was terrible in his first hit out yesterday.  I hope he improves for round 1, we need a competitive ruckman and i don't want to see Hamspud running around in yellow and black either.
As a leader I think Maric has a lot to prove this season considering the poor performances in finals thus far especially last years effort against north was bloody disgraceful.
