Grant Thomas = Riewoldt to Tigerland
« on: April 19, 2007, 10:45:57 PM »
Just mentioned on the footy show that Nick Riewoldt is out of contract this year.

If we appoint Thomas as an assistant or some other role, he could take Miller's job and probably do better.

Surely with Thomas and young Jack, Nick would walk to Punt Road and be the perfect replacement for Richo.

A bit far fetched but we can only dream!!!!

Yep Judd, Riewoldt, Pavlich and Dal Santo all out of contract and have delayed negotiations. Hmmm 2 classy KPPs and 2 classy midfielders - just what we need  ;D  :thumbsup.

Seriously how close are Jack and Nick? Unless Nick walked out of the Saints and into the PSD for nothing which is wishful thinking it would cost a fortune in picks and $$$.

Disagree about Grant Thomas Bully. I don't think we need another St Kilda man at Punt Rd to stuff up a young list  ;). We complain about the number of injuries we've got but look what happened at the Saints under Thomas.

I'd take on Grant Thomas as an assistant even if it were for the sole purpose of getting Riewoldt!

Personally I really don't care what other CLubs, other fans and those in media think about the Tigers. What I care about is our Club.

As for G Lyon - he's had a bad week. And let's be honest he probably does know a fair bit about under performing teams that get over-rated by the media - he played for 1 for what over 10 years  :rollin :rollin

Jack and Nick are actually pretty close as is the whole family.  Remember that Nicks father only moved to Qld from Tassie when Nick was about 9 and the family ties are still very strong.  Cant see that impacting on where Nick plays though and from Jacks perspective he needs to make his own way and doesnt need to be in anyone's shadow.

Well said WP  :clapping.

:lol

Funny how he wrote an article about us this week and not on his beloved Demons. Now which club thought they were a premiership chance this year but is currently holding up the other 15 teams Garry :whistle.

The Pies are apparently sniffing around Nick Riewoldt despite their denials. Where there's smoke....!

Is Nick considering moving if he or his manager talking to other clubs?

I don't reckon any of 'em would want to come here in the first place but for arguments sake I'd be more interested in Pavlich over Riewoldt and Dal Santo over Judd.

Dal Santo - because he would cost a third to a half of what we'd have to pay Judd and is still a top liner.  Pavlich - I just rate him on a level above Riewoldt.  Maybe not as outrageously athletic, but I reckon he's far more versatile and consistent.   For mine he's on par with Jon Brown.
