Mark Stevens on Ch 7 news just said the Tigers have surged to be in the running for Jake Stringer, who is definitely leaving the Bulldogs.

It's now out of three clubs - Richmond, Geelong and Essendon.

I am a conservative person by nature, and while Stringer at his best is a great player, I feel we have other needs that should be addressed before adding a cream type player to the mix.

I'd say a 23 year old goal-kicking, premiership-winning All -Australian mobile foward & bonafide star who can also play on ball and is yet reach to his peak is exactly what we need......... :shh

His poor performances of late doesn't concern you at all?

If his last season were as good as his previous two, he would be unattainable ...  :shh

We need a key forward as much as a ruck or mid . Stringer is bit short but still pretty good option? The time try win is now and it's rare a high talent player like the dogs forward is on the table.

The thing with Stringer for mine is that I believe we're in a fantastic place to trade for a guy like him. Aside from our two first rounders (wouldnt want to use more than one IMO) and about 3 or 4 really good standard players running around in the magoos. Sometimes you just need to take the opportunity.

One thing we havent really addressed. Cap space?

I guess I was trying to allude to that in my earlier post. We still have holes on this list that I'd have thought we would fill ahead of adding more cream to the cake.

I get that Stringer at his best is a quality player that anyone would want in their team. But he will cost a fair bit of cap space which, with the younger talent we have on our list, is going to be at a premium over the next few years.

If your being kicked out of a club with a year to run on your contract I very much doubt you'd be demanding much.
Should just be happy to get a second chance.
Stringer career is at the cross roads and could easily go either way, after being burnt by Yarran are we ready to take the same risk again?

Explain to me again how a guy who is currently on 300k a year gets sacked from his club with a year to run on his contract can demand 600k a year else where?
Who ever gets him may have to pay overs at the trade table but they certainly won't be paying that type of money for his salary.....
