Rate a Tiger's year: Mitch Morton
« on: October 07, 2008, 05:56:27 PM »
Mitch debuted for Richmond in round 3 against the Pies. After 9 goals in 5 games a goalless game against Geelong saw him dropped before returning in round 12 for our win over the Dees at the Dome. Morton had a purple patch in a 5 week period kicking 17 goals before 3 quiet games saw him dropped on the Thursday night of the Hawthorn game. Browny's injury gave Mitch a second chance and he took it kicking 3 goals both against Hawthorn and Freo and finished the season in the seniors.

How did we all see Mitch's first year as a Tiger?

I give him a 7, he still has a fair bit to work on, but it was his first real full season, so he will need to continue building his fitness.
Good pickup though

a very good first year at tigerland, displayed an immense talent for conjuring a goal out of nothing...Needs to add another string to his bow if he is lift another notch, is a bit mark and kick at the minute, would like him to watch how ryan o'keefe goes about it...A great pick up and what a magnificent kick for goal..6.85/10 :thumbsup

6.5 for me.  Loved his attitude at the ball and finishing - made a big difference to our forward line pressuring the opposition but prone to go missing and I'm hoping it is a fitness thing.

Took the role of Pettifer in previous season with aplomb.
Kicks goals, takes marks, takes pack marks, tackles, 1%ers, tough.
Just needs to add abit of consistency to his game and he will be a great get.
Needs to build on this year and play every game next year as well as kicking close to if not 50 goals.
Overall for 08 7.01/10
