Good game. Gary Lyon gave him best on ground because he won critical clearances when it looked as though Melbourne coming back

knocks up getting the football

Is starting to use his express pace and elite kicking ability.

Will be a cornerstone of our midfield for the next decade.

Is tracking ahead of the curve, and has great leadership potential.

This guy would give great reference checks  :thumbsup
“I find it nearly impossible to make those judgments, but he is certainly up there with the really important ones, he is certainly up there with the Francis Bourkes and the Royce Harts and the Kevin Bartlett and the Kevin Sheedys, there is no doubt about that,” Balme said.

Promising, young midfielder, Reece Conca, is feeling right at home, at Tigerland, in his second season of AFL football.

Conca, who was taken by Richmond at pick six overall in the 2010 National Draft, played 17 games in his 2011 debut season, earning a league Rising Star nomination along the way.

This year, he has taken another significant step in his football development.

He is averaging 19.3 disposals per game in his 15 appearances so far this season for Richmond, racking up 20-plus in his past four matches (against Greater Western Sydney, Melbourne, Gold Coast and North Melbourne), and a career-high 29 back in the Round 3 clash with Melbourne.

The teenager from WAFL club, Perth (he turns 20 next month) has embraced the whirlwind nature of football at the game’s highest level . . .

The Conca vs Heppell debates have thankfully gone quiet. At this stage Reece can play in close in the midfield better than Heppell.

heppel is a receiver of swollen goods, he cant play in close.

Heppel only looks good when the Dons are up, he looks average at the moment, has done for a while.

Conca will be the pick of the two next year IMO. Watch out for him to bulk up.

lol at this constant comparing of performances of 2nd yr players.
just about every mid taken up to pick 40 odd in 2010 has shown something to suggest they will be a good player.

when they are 22 23 and fully developed perhaps then we can judge just who is the better player.

me i wanted heppell and caddy in front of conca. heppell imo has more to work with and has a bigger upside imo. some areas heppell has it all over conca  and in some conca has it over heppell.

to me the most obvious one is just how good heppell is in traffic. his awareness of whats around him is first rate and this awareness buys him time to use it well.

all i  hear is conca can do this and heppell cant do that on here and the opposite from essendon supporters and like little kids most of us just have to answer back.

they both have strengths and weaknesses  you should tally both up if you are going to compare. two yrs in performance is a secondary thing atm.  imo its the upside  that should be looked at when asking who is going to be better. they both need to improve a fair bit in areas of their games.

personally i dont care who ends up better.  just as long as  conca ends up being a good pick  and the chasm between the two is not great  as long as  we have not wasted another top ten pick. my opinion on who has more upside is i lean towards heppell.
but does it really matter if they both end up being good players. i wonder why it is nobody ever asks why we took deledio instead of franklin  maybe because they are both very good and theres no huge chasm between performances now they have matured.
