Versus Bombers match thread
« on: July 05, 2011, 08:35:28 PM »
Ok! Lets try forget last week and focus on this week!
Have the Bummers played their 'grand final' last week and be ready to be picked off? :pray
Any chance of a 104 point turn around?

I am expecting another loss to be honest, our situation hasn't changed, we have another injured player, the same massive holes in our ruck/backline and increasing risks of injury to our better players as the load / pressure is turned up on them to carry the load.

I was thinking that. Maybe they played their GF last week and they may have an emotional let down this week as opposed to us having the let down last week. :shh

A loss of below 80 points would be welcomed this week. :'(

Surprisingly I am not that worried about this week. The fact that Richmond will come out breathing fire against Essendon is fairly predictable.

Anyone else have a nagging feeling we will beat the bombers this week but in typical Richmond fashion become the Suns third victim.

I think we will come out firing (as we should after that poor effort last weekend). But unfortunately I can see the bombers running over us in the end after gaining some belief by beating Geelong.

WE THINK:
Richmond have had the better of clashes with Essendon in recent seasons. The Tigers have won eight of the past 11 since 2005 including this season's Round 9 encounter by 16 points. Both sides have struggled for form over the past month but, while Essendon broke a five-match losing run with an upset win over Geelong last Saturday night, Richmond sunk to a new low with a 103-point loss to Carlton earlier that afternoon. If the Bombers can bring the same uncompromising approach to this clash, they will win, but it's a big 'if'. The Tigers were stung by Damien Hardwick's assessment that they gave up against the Blues. Expect them to fire up this time. In a tight, hard contest it's Essendon by 11 points.
