I might be robinson crusoe but Id take Mclean for nothing, he's only 25 has had a torid time with injuries, if he can get right, he is a clearance machine...would be a good change from Jackson if they are intent in offloading him

I agree BJ. Certainly wouldnt want to pay much for him, but I think he is unfairly maligned.
Would be in our best 22 as an upgrade on Jacko, perhaps even Tucky.

Carlton give Richmond bower, McLean, Lucas and their first round pick, I think it's 22.

Richmond give Carlton their first round pick, I think it's pick 15.

Carlton than give St Kilda pick 15 for Goddard.

Richmond will than on trade Bower to one of GWS pre listed players they are interested in.

The same chap tells me St Kilda are in serious financial strife and may be even facing some sanctions. Need to get rid of 2 stars, Goddard and Dal Santo most likely.

This all sounds like something some Carlton supporter has made up. The Blues gain Goddard for only pick 22 and some fringe players; Saints lose Goddard for only a late first round pick; Richmond moves out of the top 20 of the draft for a finished footballer like McLean, a kid on the fringe plus some 17 year old that other clubs don't want if GWS only want Bower in return. Too good to be true for Carlton. I still wouldn't do it but Richmond would be better off in that scenario to trade for Goddard with pick 15 as at least we'd gain a quality footballer and then send one of our own fringe players to GWS for a pre-listed player we are supposedly interested in. Why help Carlton build towards a premiership. We ain't a charity.  .

Carlton and Richmond ream this trade. Odds are we wont do 15 for 22 if we dont think our player will be there. In the mean time we pick up someone like Lucas, and maybe Luke Brown as well as having the burden of McLean.

Essentially, excluding the other two, we would slide around 7 places down in the draft, but gain a top 15 pick from a couple of years ago in Lucas. Doesnt sound to bad to me.

As well as potentially a pre-list player who could be top 25 pick this year. I guess its the reward for taking McLean's contract so they can get Goddard.
