ADELAIDE captain Simon Goodwin has confirmed that this season will be his last.

The 33-year-old has played 268 games for the Crows since his 1997 debut, with his career achievements including the club's two premierships (1997 and 1998), three best and fairest awards and All-Australian selection on four occasions.

Footscray are a joke of a football club.

they pay us out as do Stkilda but our success far outweighs anything they have done.

Jarrad Oakley-Nicholls*: Reasonable year with East Perth but couldn’t manage a senior game in his second stint on an AFL list. Has undeniable talent as a wingman/half-forward and should be persevered with.

http://www.afl.com.au/news/newsarticle/tabid/208/newsid/101438/default.aspx

Here's his stats for East Perth: 20 games, 321 disposals (16 avg), 104 marks (5 avg), 25 tackles (1 avg), 19 goals (1 avg)

One Aker actually got right. Johnson tried to hang on this year to win a flag but he clearly went at least one season too many. Holding the captaincy is the only thing that has saved Johnson from being dumped to the VFL.

The timing of the retirement decision comes across as one last desperate attempt to get the Dogs playing with some emotion and to counter the Swans' Roos-Kirk farewell factor.

Jacky, 21, played three AFL matches in 2008, his first year with the Crows, but has not played a game in the past two seasons.

He was recruited from WAFL club Subiaco with pick No.30 at the 2007 NAB AFL 2007 national draft.

However, the club confirmed that rookie-listed midfielder Jarrad Oakley-Nicholls has been offered another contract.

It is for the Eagles in a way as Notte was a top 20 pick they got in return for trading Judd. Masten was the other pick (selected after Cotch) and he's kicking is dodgy. At least they got Josh Kennedy out of it.

He's not retiring but how long is Fletcher going to keep going for?  Must be a sucker for punishment as the Bummers are going nowhere.

VETERAN Essendon defender Dustin Fletcher has signed a new one-year deal with the Bombers, while emerging midfielder Ben Howlett has penned a two-year contract.

Fletcher, at 35 the oldest player in the AFL, began his career with the Bombers in 1993 and has played in two premierships.

RICHARD Hadley has retired from AFL football.

Injury restricted the Carlton midfielder to just 66 AFL matches during a 10-year career, which began at the Brisbane Lions.

Hadley played 41 games for the Lions, with the club's premiership of 2003 just his fourth senior appearance.

Traded at the end of 2007, Hadley managed 25 matches in his three years at Carlton, and just eight this season.

:lol

4 senior list delistings and one rookie promotion = just 3 picks. Jimmy as deluded as his club :wallywink

I loved the comment from an Essendon supporter on the Herald-Sun site. Something like one Slattery is still one too many :lol.

Ed Barlow and Matt O'Dwyer have both been axed, the pair joining Kristin Thornton as Swans looking for a chance in the pre-season or rookie drafts after failing to win a new contract. Along with the delistings, Brett Kirk and Henry Playfair have retired, while youngster Patrick Veszpremi was traded to the Western Bulldogs earlier this month. Two rookies - Jake Orreal and Taylor Gilchrist - have also been delisted.

Senior-listed players:
Beau Dowler (delisted)
Rhan Hooper (delisted)
Beau Muston (delisted)
Simon Taylor (delisted)
Travis Tuck (delisted)*

Rookie-listed players:
Michael Johnston, NSW Scholarship (delisted)
Jarrod Kayler-Thomson (delisted)
Garry Moss (delisted)
Carl Peterson (delisted)
Wayde Skipper (delisted)
Cameron Stokes (delisted)

*As previously outlined, Hawthorn has committed to support Travis Tuck in several ways.

In order to give Tuck the opportunity to be considered for the final spot on the Club’s Rookie List (open until March 2011) - in accordance with AFL rookie list rules - Hawthorn Football Club has had to delist Tuck.

General Manager Football Operations Mark Evans said Tuck will be given the opportunity to secure a spot on the Hawks’ Rookie List.

“Travis will continue to train with the group until March 2011, which will give him the opportunity to be considered for the final spot on Hawthorn’s Rookie List and the Club will continue to support Travis financially at this time,” Evans said.

If Tuck is not selected as a Rookie-listed player, and Tuck wishes, the Club will apply for him to be placed on its 'inactive' list and will continue to support him as a player at Box Hill.

The Club and Tuck then have the option of re-listing him at the end of the 2011 season.

Hawthorn's 2005 recruiting doesn't look great now. Just goes to show most of their 2008 premiership side was already at the club before Clarkson arrived and the 2004 Buddy draft was icing on the cake.

3. Xavier Ellis
6. Beau Dowler - delisted
14. Grant Birchall
18. Max Bailey - 3 ACLs
22. Beau Muston - delisted
38. Travis Tuck - delisted due to illness

PSD 3. Guerra

R3. Luke McEntee - delisted
R19. Lukas Markovic - delisted
R35. Stephen Gilham
R46. Ben Kane - delisted
R55. Ben McGlynn - trade to Sydney

Their 2005 rivals our 2004.

5 picks in the first 22, and there are no Deledio's there.

Ellis is a run of the mill player, Birchall a good ordinary and Bailey unlucky with injury.

PORT Adelaide has finalised its senior squad ahead of next month's NAB AFL Draft by cutting two more senior players from its list. The Power have dumped former Bomber Jay Nash after just one season at Alberton, while ruckman/forward Matthew Westhoff - brother of fellow tall Justin - has also been axed.

McCulloch was the one we were interested in late in the 2008 draft but Brisbane grabbed him with the pick just before us. The spare spot was kept for the PSD and we picked up Cuz with it.

No surprise with Neagle being cut. He could never run out more than a quarter (or should that be quarter-pounder lol). So much for him being the deluded Bombers FF for the next decade  :wallywink

So, is that 7 of the main list with one rookie upgrade leaving 6 vacant spots?

Gee the bummers are going to have trouble meeting their 90%, TPP being three short on their list, if that's the case :P

This is the beauty of it all Al - the bummers are nearly at 100% with the spuds that have (McVeigh & Welch as senior players and only Fletch on the VL) and they will be in list management issues to at least 2015 = Hird's nadir.

very ordinary from the weagles.
Delisting a premiership player after the trade period without attempting to find a new home just reeks of self-interest and manipulation.

Freakin weagles are a shadow of a club ........

Corporate drones at best.

Was contracted and I think they had to wait till then to delist him so it's included in the 2011 cap and not the 2010 cap.

I thought Hansen's body was shot due to injuries and that's why he was delisted.
