There is going out at the right time (Richo, Cuz) and then there is Johnno. He has been a good player, but how he has been getting game in the last few weeks is beyond me.
And you may not think I care for you

One Aker actually got right. Johnson tried to hang on this year to win a flag but he clearly went at least one season too many. Holding the captaincy is the only thing that has saved Johnson from being dumped to the VFL.

The timing of the retirement decision comes across as one last desperate attempt to get the Dogs playing with some emotion and to counter the Swans' Roos-Kirk farewell factor.

ADELAIDE has delisted half forward Jarrhan Jacky.

Jacky, 21, played three AFL matches in 2008, his first year with the Crows, but has not played a game in the past two seasons.

He was recruited from WAFL club Subiaco with pick No.30 at the 2007 NAB AFL 2007 national draft.

Surely JON wouldnt remain on west coasts lists ::)

Well it would appear surely they are keeping him  :rollin

From the AFL site in an article about McKinley wanting to be traded:

 ;D

However, the club confirmed that rookie-listed midfielder Jarrad Oakley-Nicholls has been offered another contract.

Oakley-Nicholls, a former first-round draft pick, played 13 games for Richmond before joining West Coast at the end of 2009.

THE SYDNEY Swans have begun trimming their playing list just days after their exit from the finals race. Kristin Thornton and rookies Jake Orreal and Taylor Gilchrist will not be offered new contracts with the club after failing to play a single game between them in 2010

ST KILDA ruckman Steven King will retire at the end of this season and will immediately become an assistant to senior coach Ross Lyon.

In other Eagles list news, forward Tony Notte and key position defender Beau Wilkes will not be offered new contracts with the club. The 20-year-old Notte played just two games for the Eagles, both in 2008, while the 24-year-old Wilkes made six appearances this season for a total of 23 since his debut in 2008.

It is for the Eagles in a way as Notte was a top 20 pick they got in return for trading Judd. Masten was the other pick (selected after Cotch) and he's kicking is dodgy. At least they got Josh Kennedy out of it.

He's not retiring but how long is Fletcher going to keep going for?  Must be a sucker for punishment as the Bummers are going nowhere.

http://www.afl.com.au/news/newsarticle/tabid/208/newsid/103032/default.aspx

VETERAN Essendon defender Dustin Fletcher has signed a new one-year deal with the Bombers, while emerging midfielder Ben Howlett has penned a two-year contract.

Fletcher, at 35 the oldest player in the AFL, began his career with the Bombers in 1993 and has played in two premierships.
