So all our omissions are because of injury
No changes based on form :-\ ::)
-
So basically, despite what Dumma's been saying, players have only been dropped due to injury not poor performace or lack of effort?
Did Houli's one hundred Hezbollah cousins threaten to do a Benghazi on Punt Road if he was dropped?
-
Reece Concer is an injury prone plodder who will never have a full pre season. Waste of a pick and we could've had Heppell
-
Out: Grigg (Heart)
-
Out: Grigg (Heart)
So we get rid of one dud (see above) and replace him with another (Pet Turd). Swings and roundabouts.

We replaced a dud who doesn't have a go with a dud who at least does....it's a start. Hardwick taking baby steps in only his 5th year. He's bought in plenty of scapegoats for the upcoming loss so he can bring back his favourites for Fremantle.

Either The Hampster or Griff will be omitted to make way for Sideshow Bob, WP ....... then thinks ...... yeh, nah, Hampster will go for an injury too
-
Outs: Grigg (tapped out at training), Jackson, Conca and Grimes (red tide poisoning)
-
Robin Nahas will kick 6 goals

Yep big words from Dumma.
Wouldn't belittle a few blokes by playing them in the ressies.
Skata culture from a skata footy club.
-
Robin Nahas will kick 6 goals
Nahas will have a feast of Tiger carcass.
-
Hampson cant play can he? Batchelor comes in and will need to play the 3rd tall when he is a flanker. Vickery in for Hampson playing forward and 2nd ruck, Griffiths plays CHB and play O'Hanlon as the lead up 3rd tall forward.

Arnott is not playing because he is not good enough. He is just bash and crash. Thats it. Doesn't offer anything else. He needs to become good at something else to become an AFL standard player. He is just ok at VFL level. Get with the times. Your thinking and general disrespect for everyone may have been acceptable 30 years ago but its not acceptable today.

Miles will come in , another product straight off the fj production line, ,,,, next :shh

Hampson not dropped, witcheshatery straight back in :banghead
Miles yay the rest will be just as poop as the others.
Why am I going ? That's a very good ? Mik....

so we have 4 injuries and it saves the axe at least its 4 changes. would have liked to see houli go as well.
helbig for houli reward good form.
darrou for grimes, replace a third tall with a third tall. give the kid a game.
a edwards for jackson. not a like for like but rewards good from. means north will have to play a tall on edwards.
miles for grigg reward good form. mid for mid
vlastuin for conca speaks for itself. mid for mid.
only way to replace hampson is play vickery and i cant bring myself to do it. vickery is one who has been so poor for so long he should be made to string 4 or 5 very good games together in the twos. its plain to see maric is well underdone and shouldnt be expected to ruck a full game. besides hampson is the only one who can give a contest against goldstein.
team for me with match ups
b/ morris - chaplin - darrou
f/ thomas - petrie - adams
hb/ helbig - rance - dea
hf/ bastinac - black - harvey.
c/ deledio - vlastuin - miles
c/ gibson - swallow - greenwood
hf/ lennon - riewoldt - martin
hb/ mullett - thompson - dal santo
f/ s edwards - griffiths - a edwards
b/ mcdonald - hansen - firrito.
r/ hampson - thomas - cotchin
r/ goldstein - ziebel - cunnington
int/ ellis - foley - mcdonough/gordon - maric.
int/ nahas - anthony - atley - daw.
the one other change id probably do is gordon in for mcdonough. hes had a good bunch of 5 games and has struggled in all of them bar the gws game. let him go back to the twos work on a few things find a bit of ball and bring him back later .

You might be right but why don't we give him a guaranteed block of 6-7 games and tell him to show us what he's got. Why not.
Morris is crash and bash and not much else but gets a game. Maybe there's only room for one of these types.
This side is shocking. Jackson and Conca are in our top tacklers, the last thing we need is both of them out against a quick side.
Hampson is a Carlton reserves reject playing first ruck for Richmond. Maric who has not offered anything since 2012 and looks miles away is 2nd ruck. What a disaster, neither of them should be playing, go in with Griffiths and Vickery, less tapouts but a much more mobile ruck combo, rather than carry all of these dinosaurs and get nothing around the ground from them.

oh cut it out. you make him sound like a dud without even playing a game.

Really liked Arnot in that ABC VFL game. Does need to find more football but by god does he have a crack! Looks to have a decent leg, moves well enough and wins the hardball. I'd play him. What do we have to lose?

Yes, I agree we have been playing soft football. But in my opinion, Arnott is a tough player but he lacks the talent to make it in the AFL. When I look at our list, I think the biggest issue at Richmond is a lack of class and raw talent. We have too many average players with average skills who are not mentally tough enough. A lot things went right last year and we over achieved.

I disagree that he's one dimensional and think he's been very good in the VFL for the last twelve months. May not be Joel Selwood but he's ultimately got more to offer than the likes of Thomas. He can win it and generally use it, he can kick it, has good football nouse and as Coach Phil said, he moves well. Hasn't put in any eye-catching performances in his limited senior appearances but hasn't exactly turned in any shockers either, done a couple of good things and hasn't looked overawed.
I think he'll be an upgrade on the "crash and bash" players we've had in the past, and needs a fair run at it, not a game here and two games there. Should be getting the games we're wasting on Thomas. We supposedly got Thomas for depth and he should be Arnot's cover, not the other way around.

Yep all these players & more are playing with injury & interrupted pre-season & expect more outs

Have to disagree. Arnot deserves a recall for a number of reasons. Firstly his last two games for the VFL side have been very good. I watched him closely during the Werribee game and he was one of the few to shine. He is clearly up to AFL standard. Secondly his attack on the football is badly needed at the senior level. He is not a crash and bash player he is a player who can win contested football and use it which as you would be well aware the senior side is badly lacking at the moment.

I hope Arnot's cards are not marked. Unfortunately Gordon's form in the VFL side has been very poor but I agree with you about need for quick players in side particularly given where playing.

Is this the start of a single level pyramid?
Dunno but the arnot/Thomas example is a dam good point
Hardwick strategy should have been attempt to build a good team predominantly from the draft. Mature rookies are fine as long as the don't cost too much (Chaplin) are poo (grigg) or they should be back up for the kids. Not first choice. (Ala arnot/Thomas)

Agree with giving him an extended run as he plays like a Pontiac spud - a very reliable all-rounder in the spud world.

Terrific, just terrific TM
Seriously, just one player omitted the others are injured. Huge message sent to those who continue to get games despite their poor form and efforts

It's akin to telling the whole world, "Please Sir, we have an excuse for playing so poorly, we had four injured players on the field and anyone could have seen that Hampster has a bad knee, so that equals five".

Dea is alot better than alot of other blokes who are "injured" and not playing this week or are still in the team. Hampson out. Small mercies. :help

i wouldnt hampson every day of the week thanks and ive bitched about hampson just as much as you or anyone else.
is replacing duds with duds really the answer. hampson at least performs one role in the ruck what does vickery do again.
we would have been better off playing stephenson than giving that hack another game without earning it.
why not something different play elton and give griffiths the second ruck role anything would be better than old peaheart himself.
it rea;lly is a merry go round.

The Round 12 Tiger team
B: Chaplin, Batchelor, Rance
HB: Houli, Dea, Morris
C: Lennon, Cotchin, Petterd
HF: Martin, Griffiths, Deledio
F: S. Edwards, Riewoldt, Vickery
R: Maric, Ellis, Thomas
IC: McDonough, Foley, Vlastuin, Miles
Emergencies: Hampson, Helbig, OHanlon
--------------------------------------------------------
I'm glad Hampson is out. With Maric back as No.1, there's no place for Hampson as he can't hold a mark to play forward (he can't play full stop :yep). Having said that, bringing in another tall forward/ruck makes no sense either as the combo of Jack, TV and Griffs hasn't worked all season. We end up too top heavy up forward as our small forwards are non-existent to apply defensive forward line pressure. Especially on the fast track at Etihad, you can get heavily burned on the opposition defensive rebound. To give it even a chance of working, we would need Griffs as the 2nd ruck option and when he's not in the ruck he needs to play up the ground between wing and HF (the Richo 2008 role) as a tall marking target for our defenders to rebound kick to and then Griffs quickly bombs a 60m kick deep to Jack or TV which smalls front and square at their feet. The idea of quick transition from defence to attack to a more balanced traditional forward line structure. I won't be holding my breath for that to happen though :scream.
-
HB: Houli, Dea, Morris...........what a fearsome hb line!
-
Miles, Vlaustin, Petterd ...
Like Petterd or not, all of these three will have a dip at least.
-
I'm glad Nathan Gordon isn't in this time. Hopefully delisted at years end. Soft soft and soft.

Agree but I'll take a quicker version of Houli over Houli himself.

I'd take a cardboard cut out of Nick Lower over Houli.

Wouldn also love Gordon over houli assuming he's not soft.

Shame we dont have a Jewish player like Poyas to replace him with

or an asian like the dogs got

id be happy with a decent player, doesnt have to be special just a bloke who does all of the basics well.
if we must play players with chronic weaknesses play those who have a decent crack at it.

Vickery was a standout last week
He has a presence up forward at vfl level
I would take Tyrone over Hampson in the senior team. He is agile and more or less u tested in the ruck allowing Ivan to go forward. He does good things around the ground in comparison with Hampson - who is like being a player short at times
Elton is a good option too
The big o shouldn't play again
