I think the size of the ground is better suited to Sydney.

I think the size of the ground is better suited to Sydney.
They've won 14 of their last 15 at Docklands. Mind you their wins have been against Etihad tenants who are/were non-top 8 sides at the time: Carl x2, Ess x2, North x2, StK x4, Dogs x4 (one loss R2 2107 just post-Dogs premiership)
We're the first MCG tenant to play them at Docklands in 10 years. Thanks AFL! ::)
The last time we played the Swans there was way back in 2006. Lost by 118 pts in the Wallace era :-X. It's 2-2 overall.

If that’s the case we should have been at Geelong last week
Can’t have it both ways

While I partly agree, Kardinia Park is a tin pot shh1te hole designed for the Cats to play Interstaters and irrelevant Melbourne clubs (which we ain't)

The whole point of moving games away from 'suburban' grounds was originally to allow more people to go and boost attendances. Taking a home Richmond game like RFC vs Sydney from the MCG where it would attract a 60k crowd based on current form to the smaller Etihad is at odds with that philosophy. It would've made more sense for us to play Freo at Etihad than the Swans who have a much larger Melbourne-based supporter group thanks to old South fans.

Well said.
The game has outgrown the suburban grounds of yesteryear.
The Cats were allowed to play home games down their against teams where supporters wouldn’t be locked out.
If the AFL didn’t care about people getting locked out, St. Kilda would still be playing at Moorabbin, Carlton still at Princess Park, The Doggies at the Witten Oval and North Melbourne still at Arden Street.
These Geelong peanuts poo me the way they carry on.
It’s ok when it suits them!!

Well Ch7 will now be happy. Thanks to last night's upset, this game is now a top of the ladder clash: Us 1st vs Swans 2nd.
Too bad thanks to the AFL's dumb fixturing this year, the crowd will be restricted to <50k rather than 60-70k at the 'G ::).

Hopefully the result is different to our last top of the table clash

Spot on.Common sense is not on the afl agenda tho.

So this could be a lock out full house.
What is etihads capacity?

As per MT's post above
Just under 50k

It's a Thursday night, so hopefully the AFL comes to their senses and just moves the game to the MCG.
Baffling. Home game, top of the ladder clash, Thursday night...and it's at Fing Marvel...

Sadly, it won't happen. Contractually, every MCG tenant has to play one home game at Etihad.

SUMMARY
Both teams enter this clash fresh off the bye and leading the competition at first and second on the ladder. The Tigers expect to regain David Astbury but Dion Prestia and Bachar Houli are less certain to return, while the Swans could have Sam Reid and Lewis Melican available. The Tigers are packing an attacking punch at the moment with Jack Riewoldt fifth in the race for the Coleman Medal and Josh Caddy narrowly behind him at eighth. For the Swans, Lance Franklin has booted at least one goal in every game he's played this season to rank third in the Coleman, and his duel with Alex Rance will go a long way to determining the outcome. The Tigers will also look for continued drive off half-back from Nick Vlastuin and the much-improved Jayden Short, while the Swans will be hoping for another strong showing from youngsters Oliver Florent, Ben Ronke and Tom McCartin.
WHERE AND WHEN: Etihad Stadium, Thursday, June 28, 7.20pm AEST
LAST FIVE MEETINGS
R13, 2017, Sydney 12.8 (80) d Richmond 10.11 (71) at the MCG
R23, 2016, Sydney 25.14 (164) d Richmond 7.9 (51) at the SCG
R8, 2016, Richmond 14.17 (101) d Sydney 15.10 (100) at the MCG
R13, 2015, Richmond 14.11 (95) d Sydney 11.11 (77) at the SCG
R23, 2014, Richmond 10.8 (68) d Sydney 9.11 (65) at ANZ Stadium
THE SIX POINTS
1. The Swans stole the contest when these sides last met in round 13, 2017. The Tigers led by 36 points in the second quarter before conceding nine goals to three in the second half to go down by nine.
2. The Tigers' strong attack is reflected in their stats; they rank second for inside 50s and marks inside 50 in the competition. In comparison, the Swans are 10th and eighth in the same categories.
3. However, the Swans have won the last two clashes between the sides, which ended the Tigers' run of three straight victories between 2014-16. Four of the last five have been decided by three goals or fewer.
4. They're nearly even when it comes to contested possessions this season. The Swans are seventh with an average of 147.7 per game while the Tigers are eighth with 147.3.
5. But, no team has finished games better than the premiers. They've won 10 of 13 final quarters and are +155 in that term. The Swans have also performed well late in games and are +71 for fourth quarters.
6. It's the type of big-stage, top-of-the-table clash that will suit a refreshed Jack Higgins. The passionate Tiger has been on an upward curve in the Official AFL Player Ratings, brought to you by Schick, but fans will be keen for him to improve his first-year player ranking of 13th in the second half of the season.
IT'S A BIG WEEK FOR…
Alex Rance. It'll be another marquee match up with Franklin, who kicked just one goal against the Tigers last year – with Rance best on ground – but booted bags of five and seven against them in 2016. If Astbury doesn't get up, Rance will have an even bigger job on his hands with Buddy no doubt keen to atone for last season's performance.
PREDICTION: Richmond by 11 points

Richmond premiership star Jack Riewoldt says Sydney are flying under the radar
June 27, 2018
Matt Balmer
FOX SPORTS
RICHMOND premiership forward Jack Riewoldt says the Tigers’ clash with Sydney on Thursday night is “mouth-watering.”
The top of the table clash sees both Richmond and Sydney battle it out for top spot, with both teams sitting with a 10-3 win-loss record.
Thursday night’s spectacle will be a finals like preview with Riewoldt saying the big match will suit the Tigers’ big game players.
“This is what you play footy for,” Riewoldt said on AFL 360.
“The only game on a Thursday night to lead off a pretty good round of footy, and we’re playing against a side that is probably the in-form side of the competition at the moment.
“I think we play a brand of footy that is suited to finals, which is that contested tackle pressure, get it forward, win the crucial one-on-ones.
“It’s certainly a mouth-watering battle for us and for our contested players they really thrive on that.”
The Tigers will play their only home game at Etihad Stadium for the season with the forward joking they “would’ve got 90,000 if it was at the ‘G.”
It will be the Tigers’ second top of the table clash for the season, having been involved in a clash with West Coast back in Round 9 — which they lost by 47 points.
Riewoldt says that being out of Melbourne means the Swans have flown under the radar, despite winning their last six matches.
“They go under the radar and they started really poorly last year and they might’ve lost their first six games last year, and then they were right there at the end of the year in the hunt of it,” Riewoldt said.
“They do go under the radar and they stay out of sight, out of mind. But they are certainly the yardstick in terms of you know what they are going to bring.”
Riewoldt believes the return of small forward Daniel Rioli has improved the team dramatically.
“We’ll probably get a couple of players back over the next fortnight which will help out,” Riewoldt said.
“Getting Rioli back a few weeks ago was a really big plus for us, sometimes people sort of see Rioli and if you look at the total output he might have, maybe 10-12 touches,
“Our small forwards — generally one misses out every week and to get him back and he comes in and has nine tackles, and some really big bits of play that you look back and go ‘oh we missed that’.”
Riewoldt also suggested the battle between Richmond defender Alex Rance and Swans forward Lance Franklin isn’t a battle to miss.
“Arguably the greatest forward to have played the game in the last 20 years to play arguably the greatest back to have played the game in the last 20 years, it’s going to be one hell of a battle.”

Intriguing ruck battle in AFL blockbuster
Rob Forsaith
ESPN
28 June 2018
Lance Franklin and Alex Rance's showdown is the main event but a pivotal duel between Callum Sinclair and Toby Nankervis forms part of an intriguing undercard at Etihad Stadium.
Rivals around the country will be watching on Thursday night when Richmond and Sydney, ranked first and second on the ladder and most premiership betting markets, meet in an AFL finals dress rehearsal.
There are subplots aplenty, starting with the opening bounce.
Former teammates Sinclair and Nankervis will square off after successfully relaunching their careers at a second club.
Sinclair lost the 2015 grand final with West Coast then shifted to Sydney, harbouring high hopes he would leap out of Nic Naitanui's shadow and become the Swans' first-choice ruckman.
Instead, Sinclair underwent surgery in 2016 to remove a fragment of floating cartilage in his knee.
Sinclair was back training come finals but lacked match fitness. Nankervis, Kurt Tippett and Sam Naismith were preferred at various points of the finals.
Nankervis was an emergency for the 2016 grand final. Desperate to become an AFL regular, he left the Swans and requested a trade to Richmond.
It proved a win-win for both parties.
Nankervis was a revelation in 2017. He nailed down the No.1 ruck spot, tripled his tally of career games and helped pilot the Tigers to a drought-breaking premiership.
"He's like another midfielder in there ... he's a fantastic player and a fantastic person. He's been a godsend for our footy club," Tigers coach Damien Hardwick said earlier this season.
Sinclair's 2017 could also be viewed as a success - he played 19 games, including two finals - but competition for spots remained fierce.
The 28-year-old has since become arguably Sydney's most indispensable player, relishing the extra responsibility created by Naismith's season-ending knee injury and Tippett's retirement in January.
Sinclair has already collected 35 votes in the AFL Coaches Association player of the year award.
That's the same number as Richmond's reigning Brownlow medallist Dustin Martin - and more than any other Swan.
"I like to think that I've improved and I've become a lot more of a consistent player this year," Sinclair said last week.

FINAL INTERCHANGES
Richmond: Brandon Ellis, Jack Higgins, Reece Conca, Jack Graham
Sydney: James Rose, Dan Hannebery, Harry Cunningham, Kieren Jack

Two key areas tonight:
1) The obvious: Winner of the contested footy and tackle count will most likely be the winner of the game.
2) Our forward pressure vs their counterattack game: The Swans are going to want to flood and congest our forward line to eliminate the space for our quick small forwards. We need to make sure we're on defensively inside F50 and build the wall across HF to overwhelm them with repeated entries and of course take our chances between the big sticks. If our defensive pressure is off in anyway or for any length period then we'll open ourselves up to sucker goals on the break and being starved for scoring opportunities ourselves. That's what happened last year when they ran us down. We fell away in our pressure compared to theirs just before half-time (Lloyd's turnover) and in second half. We're a better side now to then though.
-
Nank and Lambert cop high arms = no frees ::).
-
You can't ball watch and allow them to get goal side :banghead
-
Two blunders by Floss.
0 - 12
-
Very reactionary so far. Even when they fumble we are sitting off and not in their faces.
-
Floss good tackle wins the free 60 out. Butler keeps his head in the pocket and crosses to Jack. Goal! :gotigers
Rich 1.0-6
Syd 2.0-12
-
So you can land straight on someone's back and it's play on ::).
6 - 18
-
Sheds to Cotch but it's paid not 15. Cotch quickly snaps but it falls short on the line.
-
Off HB and Jack is pushed 80 out. Goes long and Rioli freakishly off the outside of the boot = goal! :gotigers
Rich 2.0-12
Syd 3.0-18
-
RIOLI! :bow :bow
-
So Conca is pinged hot but Rose drops it and it's play on ::).
-
Conca down in a lot of pain. Looks horribly like a broken ankle/leg :(.
-
Good one Buddy - Just break Conca’s ankle ya fat lard :banghead
-
Yeah I could hear screaming poor bloke. That would be painful as stuff. Just when he was starting to gain continuity
-
Nice touch by the rest of the team to walk over to the motorised stretcher. One in, all in.
Conca with the green whistle a la Nathan Brown style. Punching his fist and acknowledging the cheering crowd as he's taken off.
-
Floss takes the intercepting mark on the wing and gets 50. Bombs it from 60 :gotigers.
Rich 3.0-18
Syd 3.0-18
-
LOL no genuine attempt Ray :lol. You idiot! That was a ball-up but you wouldn't blow the whistle for 10 secs until it was stripped ::).
-
Rioli cleverly keeps it alive but it's rushed through.
In front for the first time tonight.
19 - 18
-
We had Cotch all by himself and we find the single Swan defender :banghead.
-
Lambert grubbers one across the body from 40. Butler taps it back and is held. Deep in the pocket. Goal! :gotigers
Rich 4.1-25
Syd 3.1-19
4 of the last 5 to us.
-
Graham sore
Cotch sore
Conca rooted
-
Umps were reluctant to call that holding on butler..
I was waiting for his arm to be amputated before they blew the whistle :shh
-
Again we shank it straight to a Swan defender when we had a player free :banghead
-
We get it back (Rance intercepts). Dusty to the square and Caddy gets on the end of the loose ball. Goal! :gotigers
Rich 5.1-31
Syd 3.1-19
-
Cotch on the wing and Jack takes a one-hander against Allir 45 out. Hands off to Short. Goal! :gotigers
5 goals in a row.
Rich 6.1-37
Syd 3.1-19
-
Will do well just to get away without further injuries, Dimma might be looking to call it off in the last.
-
Quarter time
Richmond 6.1-37
Sydney 3.1-19
Goals: Riewoldt, Vlastuin, Butler, Rioli, Caddy, Short.
Great stuff after we were jumped and then we were all over them in that last 10 minutes. Conca's shocking injury clearly spurred the rest of the boys on.
-
Will do well just to get away without further injuries, Dimma might be looking to call it off in the last.
Haha. The bad old days. :lol
-
Graham sore
Cotch sore
Conca rooted
Add Caddy with a stinger on his left hip.
-
What about the landing in the back in the first quarter, umpire? ::)
-
Some soft frees :thumbsdown
-
Some soft frees :thumbsdown
Both ways
Think we’ve been looked after ok for a change
-
Geez Ellis could have tackled then
-
So they can land in our backs but us not theirs ::).
37 - 31
-
We go long and Butler fakes then snaps a goal :gotigers.
We needed that steadier.
Rich 7.1-43
Syd 5.1-31
-
Repeated entries. Graham hits up Butler on the lead in the pocket 40 out. OOTF :P.
-
A bit of tempo footy in defence. Short then breaks a line and kicks long. Jack marks 45 out. Shanks it right OOTF :P
Got to take these chances.
-
We force the turnover across the centre. Floss hits up Jack 50 out. Gives it back but Floss misses left.
44 - 31
5:30 to go to half-time
-
Floss speckie over Buddy :clapping
-
That was HTB!
-
Swans are flooding ::) but it's allowing us repeated entires.
Jack inside 50 and finally we get a mark. Georgie 30 out. Shanks it right :scream and doesn't make the distance. Ball-up 20 out and then a throw-in. Higgins is brought down and that's the siren.
Half-time
Richmond 6.1 7.2-44
Sydney 3.1 5.1-31
Goals: Butler 2, Riewoldt, Caddy, Rioli, Vlastuin, Short.
-
The Swans have gone back a decade to their uber flooding days to stop us scoring ::). We need to be smarter than just bomb it to their numbers and then we finally get a shot on goal we need to kick them. 3 shanked set shots that quarter that didn't score at all :banghead.
-
Flossie is having a night out LOL That speccie on Budweiser's back was pure gold. Poor Concs was playing some gutsy footy sorry to see him cop that.
-

Kicking it straight to Alir.
15 i50 but only 1 goal :banghead
Some dumb forward entries and we haven’t blown them away as we should have. All other facets of our game have been very good.
-
I think this is Nank's best game for the year so far.

Yep, playing into the Swans' defensive plans. They want Allir as the loose man. We need to lower our eyes and play the percentages too. A bit too many Tiges doing too much globetrotter stuff when the straightforward would've been more effective.
-
Got to be smarter with our forward entries heads up and hit a target not just bomb in and they get easy ball.
-

Agree keep it simple and smart footy not play in to there hands.
-
You are clueless, Ray. Grimes was the 5th one in that wrestle and Razor pays 50 against us ::).
44 - 37
-
Stoppage on the wing. Grigg around the body and Jack on the lead marks 50 out. GOalllllllllllllllllll! :gotigers
Rich 8.2-50
Syd 6.1-37
-
Need to be switched on 3 qtr :gotigers
-
That's better hit a target in our 50.
-
Cheap shot by Buddy to Rance's throat. Free reversed to us.
-
Prestia stands strong in the tackle, breaks it and hits up Lambert 35 out. Goal! :gotigers
Rich 9.2-56
Syd 6.1-37
Thanks Buddy :lol.
-
Hopefully boys get up for Conca they will be hurting :gotigers.
-
McVeigh pushed in the side but the ump pays it as in the back ::). We had the turnover too.
Floss might be in trouble there. Stupid there with the elbow especially with the russian roulette MRP.
The 50 gifts them a goal.
-
Floss might be in trouble there. Stupid there with the elbow especially with the russian roulette MRP.
Might be ?
He’s stuffed
-
Great smother by Rance on Rohan.
We then gets them on offensive transition and Graham finds Dusty 35 out directly in front. Dusty shanks it :P.
Dusty is off tonight with his kicking.
57 - 43
-
Good sweeping play on the fat side and Graham on the wing chips inside to Short who gets 50. Set shot from 30 out. Goal! :gotigers
Rich 10.3-63
Syd 7.1-43
-
Dusty brings down mcVeigh in the guts. HTB. Finds Jack on the lead 50 out. Fades to the right.
64 - 43
-
Shut up Bruce
-
Grrr! Should not have allowed Ronke to get away and then we don't thump the ball clear.
Us out the centre bounce but Caddy's long shot bounces and hits the post.
65 - 49
-
Swans OOTF on the wing. Short long and Jack jumps up and takes a speckie over the pack 40 out :o :clapping
He nails the goal too :gotigers
Rich 11.5-71
Syd 7.1-49
-
The Jack Riewoldt show tonight :thumbsup.
-
How can you be allowed that long to set up and leave a huge space 30 out from their goal :banghead.
71 - 55
-
A free for a block omfg if that don't take the cake, that has been their whole stuffing gameplan all night and they have not been pinged once!
-
Nice staging by Buddy there and the ump falls for it ::)
-
Umpire goal ::)
-
That umpire has to be sacked
-
3/4 time
Richmond 6.1 7.2 11.5-71
Sydney 3.1 5.1 10.1-61
Goals: Riewoldt 3, Butler 2, Short 2, Caddy, Rioli, Vlastuin, Lambert.
-
What the heck was that?
-
We need to convert. Misses are hurting us
-
Let's not give some cheapy goals and end the qtr well.
-
Can anyway tell me if Rance was over the mark? Looked fine from where I was sitting.
-
Got to take our chances to.
-
No hands in the back. No push. What the heck is a defender supposed to do?
I dont get it. Just absolute rubbish.
-
Dimma was going to have a go at the 4th umpire there and Tim Livingstone had to push him away.
-
Who says the umps don't swing the momentum. The last thing you need is the umps giving Buddy a leg up.
71 - 67
-
Got to be smarter tho guys with our football tho umps look like hot.Better delivery in our 50 and need to use our speed.
-
Front and square Tiges.
-
Game should be never this close. Now we know why we sit 18th for frees and negative 30.
-
Don’t just stand there Grigg - help him
-
If Rance was over the mark @51 out from goal why the the mark set 5 meters out in the goal square
-
Can’t afford to spray them
-
Great mark again Jack. Higgins marks 45 out. Gives off to Cotch who has to run around and misses.
72 - 67
-
How is that not the same for Ellis as Buddy's free, ump? (shouldn't be a free btw)
-
Lol
Brandon Ellis
So tough
-
Got to kick them simple swans are 1 behind.Need Martin to fire up a bit to.
-
Caddy on the 50 on the boundary. OOTF :P.
Not the smart option Josh.
-
Far out - are we trying to lose. :banghead
-
Come on keeping them in it Tigers.
-
Lucky but we'll take it. Lambert grubbers a ball from 40 and it bounces over the pair in the goalsquare for a goal :gotigers
Rich 12.6-78
Syd 11.1-67
10 mins to go.
-
Prestia out of the guts to Jack 65 out. To the hotspot. Rioli flies over the pack but it falls to ground. Crumb by Georgie to Sheds for a goal :gotigers

Syd 11.1-67
-
Cotch out of the guts runs to 50 but misses to the right.
85 - 67
-
Great measured transition from defence. Grigg hits up Jack 40 out. Misses.
86 - 67
4 mins to go.
-
Put them awsy now no letting them in and kick straight !.
-
Smart by Dusty. Wastes 30 secs pretending to be lining up for a shot from 55.
We get the turnover. Cotch to Lambert around the body = Goal! :gotigers
Rich 14.8-92
Syd 11.1-67
That's the sealer!
-
:gotigers
-
Both sides turn it over but we get the important second one. Gets to Grigg 45 out. Turned his back on Caddy going back for the shot. Misses.
93 - 67
-
Siren! :gotigers
2 wins out of 2 at Etihad for the journos reading this ;D.
-
saw a bit of the awesome Tigers tonight, some very slick stuff. Floss will be taking a break though ...and he was flying in the first half..spewing.

Final Score
Richmond 6.1 7.2 11.5 14.9-93
Sydney 3.1 5.1 10.1 11.1-67
Goals: Riewoldt 3, Lambert 3, Butler 2, Short 2, Caddy, Rioli, Vlastuin, Edwards.
23 scoring shots to just 12. Their accuracy kept them in it and made the result on the scoreboard closer than what it was in general play.
We're living in special times. This Tiger side is a bloody good football team :clapping.

Even with the umps coming from the Sydney board room we still won. Yah
-
that 50 on the 3rd quarter siren was a load of poo. glad we got the win. disappointed dusty has been a bit off (outmarked by florent?) but lambert stood up! good team effort and Jack was a colossus
-
There were so many lumps of poo by the umps tonight. Most games the umps are 3 or 4 out of 5 but this one was a 2 even 1.5 out of 5.
-
saw a bit of the awesome Tigers tonight, some very slick stuff. Floss will be taking a break though ...and he was flying in the first half..spewing.
How many you reckon ?
2 or 3 you would think ?
Dunno, he has been fined twice, if they get him for rough conduct again it's an auto couple I think isn't it?

Stevic...doing his good work on us.
-
How did they kick 11.1?
That is freakish, makes you wonder.
-
how about big Ray giving them a 50 because Grimes pushed one of 3 Sydney players off of Rance :lol
-
Good win against quality opposition on a ground we don't usually play well on.
-
Once Conca went down boys were never going to loose this game uou can see what it ment to them.Gutsy win by us.Floss maybe careless you think ?
-
How about buddy swinging an arm in a marking contest clonking rance in the head and all we get is the sound of crickets
-

Ray was pathetic tonight. Buddy should not have kicked more than 1 goal. The 2 frees Buddy got from push in the back were horrendous and what about Rance being blocked off the ball allowing Buddy to kick it from 50 on the boundary....shocking. Rance should have received a free for a block :banghead
It's not about you Ray and glad big Brown called you out on Fox Footy after the game :clapping
-
Only a week for Flossy. Great win, no one can match our intensity but there might be a couple who are more efficient. We were a 7-8 goal better side but our "brand" can cost us goals.

The Richmond response
Amid the disappointment of a horror moment involving Reece Conca came a touching and enduring image. As the 100-game Tiger was stretchered from the field in the first quarter after suffering a sickening ankle injury, the entire Richmond team swamped the medical cart that was required to take Conca from the field. And the Richmond response to Conca's injury was just as inspiring. The Tigers kicked the final five goals to end the first term, in a burst that proved critical in deciding the outcome of the match. That buffer was crucial as the Swans challenged the hosts late, with the Tigers holding on for a deserved 26-point victory.
Richmond at Etihad Stadium
It's not often Thursday night footy finds its way to Melbourne. It's just as rare that Richmond journeys out to Etihad Stadium. But the new surroundings didn't seem to faze the Tigers, who were making just their second appearance at Docklands for the season. Although it was their home game, it almost seemed like the location favoured the Swans. John Longmire's side went into the clash having won 14 of their last 15 games at Etihad Stadium, unbeaten on the road all season. However, Richmond showed no ill-effects playing away from the MCG, running out strong winners in another show of character from the minor [sic] premiers.

What a game, what a win.
Loved every moment of it (less Conca of course).
:gotigers :clapping :thumbsup :bow :cheers :)

Just a brilliant game
Great game of footy
Just shows the game isn't stuffed or broken like so many in the media claim

I said to a mate last night that fast breaks seem more exciting these days. We don’t need to overhaul the rules such as introducing zones. We are better off spending time and money into improving the standard of umpiring.
-
Swans into 2nd with a bullet behind Geelong as my most hated team.
Faux tough guys.

I dunno WP. I used to watch 5, 6 or 7 games a week. Nowadays, if it’s not the Tigers I don’t reckon Ive got through a full game without falling asleep or loosing interest.
I think that’s the difference for me. I find the game boring most times.
Lately I’ve been watching some older matches from the 90’s and they are much more entertaining IMO.
-
Stuff me sideways - I've seen 6 cracking games in the past 2 weeks, our 2 games, Dees v Port, Roos vs dogs, Swans v eagles and tonight's games all were pulsating contests

But but but.... the state of the game.... zones....time wasting......the soccer sleeping giant....Blue Meanies!!!!

any more than that? I have seen about 5 descent ones all season (not including all of our wins)
Its boring and most games i cant watch a full quarter, let alone a full game.
I think a lot of it is due to the saturation of footy in our faces from the media, with those pointless programs where they all try and justify their jobs.

Absolutely.
In the "old days" they picked the match of the day and put it on TV. Gave a false illusion of great footy in all games. Some of the bottom teams' footy back then was just pathetic.
-
Get rid of the interchange bench or limit it to a maximum of only 4 per game.
Game will open up and the best players will stay on the ground rest up forward.
Game fixed.
-
At the centre bounce it should be a 3v3 in the square. Then no defenders, everyone else in their own forward half with speccie bags.
-
Just watched the 'highlights' and I am nearly through my coffee cup through the television watching the stuffing idiot umpiring again. Rance actually jumps vertically, quite a stuffing achievement to project yourself so high and forward 2 meters like dingus claims. He should be in the Olympics. How did Fat Buddy not get a week for hacking Rance in the throat and how the stuff were three Swans players allowed to Jump all over Rance after he was already tackled and over the boundary line then when Grimes tries to get the stuffs off, they get a 50m penalty? The game was so tight it was amazing we got that win at all, despite dominating.

:cheers

Suggest you watch it at least once.

Just getting back to why this game wasn't at the 'G
I see Melbourne and St Kilda drew 38 910 to the 'G today.
Carlton and the Power drew 26 562 to the 'G yesterday
1 vs 2 on a Thursday night drew 43519 to Etihad.
Are the AFL incompetent or what? Imagine if they had shareholders to answer to.

At seasons end last year blind freddy couldve seen that Brisbane was a better choice for our 1 ettihad home game instead of the swans. wtf are they smoking at AFL house?

Probably because they try and make sure each interstate team gets as many games at the G as possible.
Hear your points but the decision seems sound to me. Any team we host, regardless of the op, we’ll get 35k minimum at the G. That might drop to 25k at the dome.
At least we get 45k v the Swans at the dome in a prime time slot and 35 v the Lions at the G in a boring time slot.
-
Yes it was important Brisbane got to play at 'G this year to prepare them for finals... :shh
