Geelong with the yips again. A replay of the GF in the first half. Way on top in general play but haven't put the Hawks away.

They'll right the wrongs next week when they'll be 16 8 at half time instead of 8 16 as they were tonight. Next week the Catters will be on top of general play and the scoreboard at half time. Nothing like facing the Tigers when you want to play yourself into form.

The Skunks lost! So all is not awry in the world of footy ;D

LOL. 3 from 5 at this stage.
Every other game so far has been or at least finished close on the scoreboard so we're way down on the bottom at 44% :(.
-
I'm 4 from 5 thus far.
No prizes for guessing who I got wrong. :shh

Freo could pinch our last place.

Don't think so only 5 goals down just on 3 qtr time

Yep unlike us :-\ Freo put up a fight after half-time. Just 22 points down now. Oh well we deserve to be last after Thursday night.

We sure do, deserve it in spades.
Bulldogs looked pretty good I thought, I didnt think Freo looked too bad and tried hard all night. However the Bulldogs class showed out, without Murphy playing as well. Next two weeks will be an extreme test.

Yep it's not going to be pretty :help
Round 1 can be unpredicatable when you look back later on in the season but if you were to base things just on round 1 you would have us, Essendon, Eagles, Freo, Dees and the Swans as no chance for the top 8.
-
The Bluebaggers are giving Brisbane a spanking too. Already 7 goals up at half-time. Credit where credit's due. They are up and about this year.
-
Brisbane coming back big time
Blues 85

Go Lions :thumbsup

It was looking hopeful until Black and Brown spoiled each other and their run stopped. The Blues are choc full of confidence. They again were pulling goals out of nowhere.
Oh well at least we can say we have as many wins as the reigning premiers :-\.
-
I don't think any Hawk fan would rather be 2-0 now and have Geelong as the reigning premiers.
Hopefully Carlton's wins have been flash in the pan.
-
The Eagles have flogged Port by 51 points :o. Both them and Sydney stuffed up my tips :P.
Freo are in big trouble. Except for Pav it's hard to find anything other than ordinary footballers.

Yep they topped up under Connolly with Harvey as assistant coach taking all of Essendon's rejects and are now paying it. Taking Stephen Hill at pick 3 and not Daniel Rich is another disasterous drafting decision. Freo proves the theory there's always someone worse off than you lol.

Actually that's funny, I said to a bloke at work last week after we'd been thumped that despite that result I knew we weren't the worst team in the comp....that mantle belonged to Freo.. he laughed at me
This morning he said to me "I reckon you're right they are terrible" :rollin
-
Naughty Duncan as runner just cost Geelong a goal by not getting outside defensive 50 quick enough.
:lol
-
The Saints are pumping the Eagles. No surprise there but maybe Kosi with 4 goals to 3/4 time is finally delivering on his potential and no longer injuring himself. He's had 3 top games and the Saints look a new team this year under Ross Lyon.
-
Fabulous to see Freo continue on their losing way....
Worst team in the comp :clapping

Seriously what have they shown in 3 games....zilch, nuffink, nada, not a damn thing.
At least we should something agaisnt the Cats ....

As bad as the Shockers are we really have no right laughing at them with our pathetic quarter of a century. Laughing at them merely eases the pain we are experiencing after 3 demoralising losses also this year. Especially with all the hype associated with us.
-
The Lions blew it tonight. Bad kicking for goal is bad footy. Oh well it keeps the comp open with both sides now on 2-2 if we finally get our act together.
-
Sheesh looks like there's a couple of upsets on the cards. Port leading the Hawks at the 'G and the Swans 19 points up on the Blues. What a shame lol.

fingers crosses those results go our way.
I know so many Blues and Hawks fans who will be not expecting those results if they fall like that.

Not sure how the Hawks losing would actually go our way, other than from a "shove that up your khyber Kawks fans point of view"
They will certainly recover and make the 8. Port are pretty entrenched in it now event though they had an easy start. I thought they would finish a couple of places outside the 8. They'll be another team fighting for the lower places in the 8 now.
-
You're right Jake. These are bonus wins for the Swans (2 weeks ago) and Port knocking off Hawthorn. Especially Port as when the draw came out you would not expect them to beat the Hawks at the 'G.
I see the Blues have the doggies next week. It could be 3 losses in a row to burst their bubble lol. Sheesh it's even not unrealistic we could be level with them on 2 wins each in 8 days time :o.
-
Just on the Port game Hartlett looked so comfortable at AFL level for a debutant. Knew how to find the footy and didn't mind throwing his weight around either for an 18 y.o. body when he gave Roughead a nice bump. Freo really stuffed up overlooking both he and Rich.
-

Am watching the St Kilda v Freo game on Fox tonight.
WP anyone who thinks Freo are are better off than ANY other AFL club need to be consigned to an asylum to say the least. We're bad but they make us look like winners.
Three goals to three quarter time is testament to that fact. :thumbsup
-
LOL Tucky
Saints vs Port next week so we'll get a proper guide where each is at.
Geez when Geelong are on song they are simply brilliant together. Ablett another lazy 46 possies with 31 handballs :o.
-
St Kilda will beat Port.
Comfortably. Can't believe they aren't favourites.

Maybe our team should handball more.... :lol
-
Well done with the tipping TA. Saints are pumping everyone this year. They and Geelong are once again showing if you're a strong tackling side and have plenty of ballwinners willing to put their body on the line you'll be up the top of the ladder. A lesson to the Tigers :-\.
-
Looks like Hille has done his knee. That'll stuff up Essendon if true.
-
Pies choke again :rollin
Jetta will be one very relieved Bomber after his fumbling howler when running into an open goal almost cost Essendon the win :wallywink.

Looks like Freo might upset Swans.
I was hoping the Swans would have an easy win and might go over confident against us next week, but on the other hand it is good that the ladder isnt spreading out that much as it gives us a better chance (if still very small) of making the finals.
-
Bloody Carlton won :banghead
Sheesh the Pussies gave Brisbane a flogging. Makes our effort down there look even better. Another lazy 42 possessions to Ablett also. The guy is an absolute stuff!
-
Had an absolutely shocking week with my footy tips
But I dont' really care
Tigers won and the Pies choked
Actually full credit to the Bombers they were GAWN but they didn't give up and that was an amazing win
And I think we saw the coming of age of a young player yesterday in that game
Well done Paddy Ryder.... :clapping
-

Strueth, just read he had 13 tackles :o
Some of our players would be stretching it to get 13 tackles in a season.

Yep a great effort. We missed out on being able to get him by just one pick.
It also says a lot about Fraser and the Collingwood rucks failing again when it matters.
-
The Pies have pumped North. Laidley should be the coach now under the pump from the media :yep.
-
Give credit where it's due. What a great game today between the Hawks and Blues. Close game that swung both ways all day, high pressure tough footy, and two key forwards at each end having days out with Roughy and Fev kicking 8 each. Blues losing made it sweeter lol.
-

absolutely MT. I wasn't going to miss out on seeing footy this weekend so i went last night which was a joke of a game and today went to the Blues/Hawks.
What a game. I thought from a neutral point of view it was great to see the game played the way it was. Both teams fought hard and so many times i said to my friends, yep the hawks will run away with it now.
Fev takes the mark and the crew i was with start jumping up and down and then handed me their keys and sunglasses ready for the absolute pandemonium when Fev nails the goal.
hahahahahahahahaahaha SORRY BOYS IT NEVER CAME.....GOLD!!!
-
Absolute Gold to watch the Cheats lose the way they did.
Has made my night. :ROTFL
-
Bombers got done too. It's been a good day :lol.
The Lions kept using the same tactic of getting it quickly out wide outside the corridor before going inside 50 and Essendon fell for it everytime. Hopefully our coaching staff were watching carefully for next week. Brisbane has been a Jeckyl and Hyde team this year. Good at home and hopeless away. Let's hope that continues :pray.
-
The Saints are looking the real deal this year. Another easy win this time over the Dogs which should've really been another 10+ goal flogging if crybaby Riewoldt could kick straight. Dal Santo could end up favourite for the Brownlow if Ablett misses a few games with that groin injury he suffered today.
-
Geez Bummers look like they might roll the Hawks.
I have got to admire the way Knights has their team playing, IMO opinion they lack the cattle but they give it a red hot go.
I know it won't happen but if we do get another coach I wouldn't mind Knights.
-
There are a few on this forum who talk about the RFC young players
have a good look at the Bombers tonight.- talk about developing players :thumbsup
Much younger than us.
Have pace to burn
Take the game on at all costs.
And are coached by a "'champ"" who knows what footy is about.
Knighta has installed a great deal of belief at Windy Hill. Something that Terry Wallet has sadly FAILED at.
The Bombers have beaten Collingwood, Carlton and Hawthorn this year, If we beat one of those teams in any year, most on here cum on themselves, LOL ;)

what i find interesting is the fact how they cover their players.
Out goes Fletcher and Hille in goes Ryder and Hooker.
gee they look good and sadly are streets ahead of us in terms of development but some on here will stay argue the Bombers are no good and we are developing nicely.
-
Daniel, everyone canned me about this last year.
They are miles ahead of us.
Essendon bottomed out for 6 months and are heading back up.
we bottom out for 5 years and are still heading NO WHERE. :banghead
As for the young players, they had 14 players under 25 games last night.
Where is Mightytiges with his stats about the Tiger young players????? ::)
Problem is that our young players arent much good besides one or two
Good on Essendon and good on Knighta I say. :thumbsup
Jackstar is Back ;)

its a compelling argument that just maybe Campbell wont be such a bad choice for our club as some think.
Look at Knighter same type of success as Campbell when they played, and he is doing wonders.
I cant help but listen to him when he speaks and admire the way he goes about his stuff.
Never heard him once say he inherited a bad list unlike some :shh

You never heard him say it because he has never coached a team.
Do you just make this stuff up as you go along? Idiot!
Cambo retired at the end of 2005, travelled for most of 2006 and was an assistant at Footscray in 2007 and 2008 before joining us in 2009.

OMG i have officially found someone who rivals Infamous as the biggest tool on this website.
I was referring to Wallet when he first started always looking back to Spud.
Some say the list Knighter took over was terrible but never have i heard him once look back.
In fact Sheeds has contributed to the success of the Bombers list in 09. Seen Paddy Ryder lately??
Whilst he is raw he is killing them while we bring back Simmo into he team instead of promoting someone else. :thumbsup
Now next time think before you type. I thought being nearly 50 you would have learnt something in your time

Three wins in a row to Freo and unfortunantely it must be said that we ARE worse than Freo.
Freo have beaten Sydney W Coast and Carlton. Hey I'd be happy if we could just get a win.
We are the WORST team in the comp. Melbourne can now officially say no matter what happens to them there's always someone worse. After all they did beat us three weeks ago.
-
Carlton losing always makes the weekend a little happier for me.
-
And Collingwood.
But bugger me, St Kilda are playing the best football in the league.
Geelong included.
-
Amazing turnaround from last year for the Sainters. Tonight they were awesome. The Pies actually applied a great deal of pressure early on but the Saints just absorbed it and then kicked into another gear and it was goodnight by halfway through the second quarter. There was a passage on the wing where they moved the ball between 6 sets of hands instinctively and precisely in a tight space under immense pressure to clear the congestion and eventually goal. Each player just knew where the other was. It was great to watch. The equal of Geelong at their best.
One thing that has changed from previous years for the Saints is they are no longer getting soft-tissue injuries as they've only had to use 24 players this year. They finally have a stable team all playing their best footy and whereas in the past under Thomas they were flat track bullies, their defensive pressure now is sensational. It just took a couple of years for Lyon to install this new defensive side to their game. It took away from their old high scoring ways in Lyon's first two years and looked ugly as hell but now they have the balance right and they are back to kicking big scores while strangling their opponents at the same time. It's hard to see anything other than a St Kilda vs Geelong GF. They are both daylight ahead of the other 14 sides including Hawthorn.

6 months lol. They've been in the bottom 8 since 2004 which is why Sheeds finally got the stuff and had earlier picks than us in 5 of the past 7 drafts. That's been our problem. Finishing 9th-10th has never done us any favours so we could rebuild faster and properly.
I'll judge the Bombers after round 22; not after one game lol. They were awful against Brisbane the week before and against North with a more experienced side but of course the Bomber lovers on this site conveniently go missing when they are losing :whistle. When their Russian roulette all out attack gameplan works they look great with their quick movement of the footy but when it doesn't they get hurt badly the other way. It worked a treat on Friday night as the Hawks are the walking wounded at the moment and are playing too many injured/underdone players. Essendon ran them off their feet. You've got to question though if this gamestyle is sustainable over a whole season. There's a reason why they were forced to play such an inexperienced side and why they are always losing players to injury. It takes a toll on the body to play this way. The same thing happened last year.
Richmond had 15 players 23 and under on the weekend btw. We are still a young side despite math-dumb journos who think an age average is the only way to measure the youngness of a list ::). A new and more importantly the right younger coach next year with a fresh voice, new ideas, and who the younger players can relate to, will have the job of turning them into a disciplined team. The confidence lacking will only come once they show team discipline. At least this new coach will have a young core to start off with and better facilities to train them on and in. Something his predecessors never had because we had no money. Liam Pickering the other day mentioned how one young Tiger he manages didn't have a development coach until his third year. 25 years of neglect in all areas of the Club isn't turned around in a few years.

They are like Geelong of two years ago, your team is trying its guts out and going in hard, but you lose by 15 goals.
Dal Santo is huge now, even McQualter who was a twig just last year is also a big solid boy now. They still couldn't make Fiona big though!! :lol
It's going to be ugly when we play them. I doubt we'll score against them, I can't even see us getting inside 50.

Yeh I think it's going to be the pits.
Lets hope TW can pull out one last idiot out of the bag when we play them ;D
-
A big win for the Hawks tonight. Gets them back on track. Freo came to play but just lacked the class, experience and forward line (like us :-\ ) to make the most of their inside 50 opportunities. Hawthorn pulled off the big plays and goals when they needed to get the win.
-
Buldogs will beat the Dees. Currently leading by 2 goals halfway through the last.
Dees are a perfect example of why you dont trade away ANY draft picks.
They have really come along nicely this year
-
The Eagles threw that one away tonight. Got in front and were running all over the Swans then went tempo footy too far out and stuffed it up. If they wanted to tank they couldn't have done it any better.
Scott Selwood shows promise. Not in his brother Joel's league but did some nice things tonight. Didn't mind getting in and under at ball-ups and kicked a classy goal on the run to put the Eagles in front near the end. Poor Francis Jackson who wanted him badly at Punt Rd will be spewing again tonight that the powers that be traded pick 19 away two years ago :scream.
-
Was at the game yesterday Melbourne vs Bulldogs & the Dees played really well, showed some gret passages of play
The umpires again stuffed a good game up with not giving some decisions for the Dees near goal which l beleive if they would have been given, would have nailed the dogs where at the other end of the ground the Bulldogs got rewarded frees that were not there
Akermanis saced there asses again. l wish Richmond would show some performances like Melbourne & go forward
-

Barry Hall scared the hell out of them all night when he was in range of the ball, would have to say that was a great game & one of his best l seen. l hate to be a defender on him when his upset ;D
Bloke has some awesome power & l pity anyone when he retires getting in the ring with him cause he is going to explode
Big Cox got the shock of his life in the show of strength ;D big Bazza held him off 1 arm & Cox was quite after that & Bazza still has that niggly groin
Was a great game overall & truely enjoyed the football, l kept saying all night kick it to Bazza ;D the wife even watched it with me
-
Well at least the Pies got flogged again and Essendon lost ;D.
Unless the Hawks get their premiership players back fit and firing it's hard to see anything other than Geelong vs St Kilda GF.
-
I see the Blues are getting done again and didn't kick a goal in the first half :rollin
Good to see as well both North and Freo fans made it to the Dome today :D
-
The Blues have had the blowtorch applied to them and it has been mentioned how important this game is to their season... 8 point game ... <insert cliche>...
They're playing the Eagles!! In Melbourne!! Their coach has publically said they're pretty much tanking the rest of this year!!
I'd like a crunch game against this sort of opposition.
Hope the Eagles smash them though!! :rollin
-
Kruzer will be the premier ruckman in the competetion.
He is a absolute gun.
He was not ready but they just threw him into the line up and look at him go.
This while we keep Vickery wrapped up in cottom wool with Simmo who wont be there post season playing. Go figure!!
-
Kreuzer is 10kgs heavier than Vickery don't forget. Vickery you'd expect to play this year (could be next week) but he needs to put on 10kgs before he can hold down a permanent ruck position. He'll more likely start up playing more as a tall forward like Ottens did.
Terrible error ridden game tonight from what I saw :P. The Blues are still a side with a handful of guns before it falls away quickly and their defence is still fragile although Austin looked good off half-back. They were fortunate tonight they were playing the Eagles who are tanking.
-
Mitch Clark - 21 possies, 9 marks, 29 hitouts and 6 tackles. To think he could have been a Tiger with pick 8, 2005 .... oh well :(.
How about the doggies - 13 goals in a row in the first half :o
-
Dean Laidley might be sending Wallace an xmas card the way the roos are going.
I admire them for trying not to bottom out, but they don't seem to have much of a spine for the future.
-
Terry might have to return the favour on those txt message from Harvey. Both he and Laidley will cop it this week.
Good to Geelong spanking the Bombers by 10 goals to half-time :lol. "Cheating" by running forward of the contest doesn't work against the top sides ;).
-
Sheesh North have pushed the Saints for 3 quarters :o although the Saints are now in front and on top. Laidley next senior coach to go you'd reckon.
-
Does everyone cringe as i do, every time Robert Walls speaks on Channel 10.
Every opportunity he gets he has to crap on about his alliance for the Blues. "His daughter bought a Blues jumper with No 5 on the back"
Half way through the 2nd........WHO GIVES A stuff.
Channel 10 are a joke they really are. Tim Lane and Robert Walls :chuck :chuck
-
Might pop over to the G to see a decent game for once. :shh :rollin
-
The Bombers bubble may have burst lol although they've got the Dees next week and a soft run home.
-
We all hate Carlton but credit where it's due to them and the Saints. Last night's game was one of the best for the year. Fast paced and massive pressure from both sides for 4 quarters. There'll be some very sore bodies when they wake up tomorrow morning as there was hardly an easy footy won. The skill level stood up well under the pressure too. The Saints just that bit better and classier to get over the line. You realise how far off we really are watching games like this one.
-
Geez North are having a shocker of a year as well. You can't see Laidley being surviving past this season. Losing Ziebell to a broken leg just tops of it off. Hope the poor kid has a speedy recovery.
The Hawkers might keep going the record of a top 4 side crashing out of the top 8 the following year. They were insipid today. I bet Clarkson now regrets saying Buddy is ready to turn it on lol.
-
Can't believe how well the Lions are going.
IMO Leigh did a super job developing the young fellas without becoming wooden spoon contenders e.g. Sherman, Rischitelli, Adcock etc Really good example of evolving a list - your gun players retire but solid contibutors like Power step up to be guns and the young kids step up to be solid contributors.
-
The Lions have been able to rebuild while they still had/have remnants of their triple-premiership teams as senior players and leaders around to teach their youngsters - Brown, Black, Power, Bradshaw and to a lesser extent Notting. Brown is a natural leader both on and off field and all are still top liners that the side can rely on. If Brissy didn't have them they would be structurally a hell of a lot weaker with no big key forwards and most likely a bottom side still rebuilding just like us. Lethal did well to switch into rebuild mode and put faith in new kids as soon as he saw the champion team couldn't achieve anymore after losing the 2004 GF. It's taken 4 years for these kids to come on but they are starting to now show some consistency. Look at Brennan - he's almost in their best players each week. Getting someone like Daniel Rich at pick 7 last year was a bonus. I thought they would make the finals last year but they fell away badly in the last 6 weeks with Lethal going. Voss has walked in tweaked a few things as far as more run and carry and they look like getting making the finals easily this year.
-
We all hate the Pies but wins like tonight deserve respect. They looked off their feet at 3/4 time with less players on the bench. They just have the wood (excuse the pun) over the Swans.
-
Geez the Bumbers are belting Rapetank.
I can't wait till we're a well coached side....
-
They Know we're waiting :rollin LOL well done bombers at least you guys backed it up.
Couldn't have done it better myself ;D :thumbsup
-
We'll see if the Eagles are really tanking. Only 3 points down at 3/4 time and will have a howling breeze to kick with in the last. Kicks easily travelling 60m. 15 goals kicked so far to this end compared to just 6 at the other. Hawks down men on the bench as well.
In the other game tonight surely Bailey must come under pressure from the media with the Dees kicking just 2 goals to 3/4 time.
-
NATANUIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII
what a stuffin goal, thats what footy is all about it.
Anyone still think the Eagles would rather win one more game or have a guy like him in their team.
He is going to be an icon of our game that kid, i can see it already. He hasn't done much tonight but its quality not quantity that matters
MAKE THAT ANOTHER GOALLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL TO THE BIG NAT
-
One more to Josh Kennedy the player involved in the Judd Carltank swap and its the Eagles by 14 points. :clapping
-
Another Natanui goal and the Eagles are home.
Hawks have been the worst reigning premiers in a long time. Fact no excuses.
Not since Essendon who missed the finals in 94 after winning in 93 has a reigning premier missed the finals in their premiership defence.
-
Great win by the eagles. They are on 16 points now and just 1 more win puts them out of the priority pick. Natanui has unbelievable athleticism. Hes a reason why clubs should tank. You dont get players like him by winning meaningless games.
-
Nat >>>>>> Buddy ;D.
Every year since the top 8 was introduced in 1994, at least one top 4 side from the previous year has missed the finals the next. Looks like the Hawks are going to be that team. They have a tough draw coming up. I know it's still early days but I reckon the final 8 is settled.
-
Carlton supporters would be crying after seeing Natanui tonight. That lad is gonna pull thousands of people through the gates to watch him over the next decade.
-

spoken to a lot of hawks supporters and believe me they are not too fussed about this year and why would you.
they were able to win a flag and that my friends is the bottom line.
if we won a flag id couldnt care less if we missed the finals for the next 5 years.
-
Hawk supporters were talking back-to-back at the start of the year. They probably don't care now because most of the Hawthorn players themselves don't seem to care either.

Dees fans won't be too happy either although I still think Watts will turn out a good player eventually. It might help if Bailey actually played him in position up forward.
-
North played pretty decent tonight. I dont know if its the first game effort for a new coach but they will be a handful next time we play them methinks (I think we play them again anyway).
They looked very good in attack too (wouldnt that be nice)
-
Good to see that we're not the only team that's fallen short of expectations for 2009.
Not that the blues are out of contention yet, but the pressure is on with Stevens and Scottland getting the axe.
Hopefully the only place the Blues will be coming is in their pants.
-
We gave the Blues a false sense of superiority lol. If they lose to Freo this week then Ratten will come under massive pressure from within.
-
The Hawks are getting flogged as well. Doggies 28 - 2.
-
Premiership hangover is in full swing lol.
Doggies 60
Hawks 2
:o
-
88 to 4 :rollin
Buddy has had 1 kick lol.
-
The Hawks board on BF has been in meltdown after last night's flogging ;D.

Amazing turnaround from last year for the Sainters. Tonight they were awesome.....
It's going to be ugly when we play them. I doubt we'll score against them, I can't even see us getting inside 50.
Apologies for quoting myself, but I wasn't far off the mark!! :rollin
-
Well if Geelong can hardly kick a goal against the Saints then last week wasn't such a shock for us in 14th spot.
-
Congrats to both the Saints and Catters. Now that was a game of footy - high pressure, tackling and body crunches for the whole 4 quarters. Oh for the day when we see a Tigers team play at that level of intensity, skill and guts :(. The Saints should now go through the H/A season undefeated. I wonder if Cornflakes when he sees Gardiner play still thinks ruckmen aren't necessary.
Poor Harry Taylor btw. He was out cold before he whacked his head again on the turf. Ouch!
-
Bloody Collingwood by a point :chuck
-
Geelong looking mere mortals with half their premiership team out tonight. The Lions probably can't believe their luck after they got flogged by nearly 100 points down at the cattery.
-
Oh dear.
No matter how bad we're going, there is always Fremantle doing worse.
-

We say that a lot on here don't we :lol
-
Melbourne 19 points up against Port at 3 quarter time. :clapping
Dees going for two in a row playing for Jimmy Stynes.
Maybe just maybe if the Dees win we can finish on the bottom and get an early pick ahead of the Demons with a game against them in a couple of weeks. :thumbsup
-
Nice tank by North in the last quarter ::)
Let's see if Melbourne does the same. Hopefully they think they can afford to win this one.
-
Nice tank by North in the last quarter ::)
Let's see if Melbourne does the same. Hopefully they think they can afford to win this one.
Maybe they do MT they still lead 101-88 just into time on in the last.
Wooden spoon could still be oursand thus early picks.
Just need to give North a huge start next week and Melbourne the same in 3 weeks as well as W Coast in Round 22 and hopefully Freo win the derby as they so often have done so in recent years. :thumbsup
-
Dees win 101-90.
The wooden spoon race tightens up.
Five teams can now technically win it.
Surely we can take the tank to a new competitive level.
-
The Bombers frontrunning style found out again against a top 8 side. Lucas looks finished. Just too slow these days. The only positive for Essendon tonight was Hurley = gun! Young natural readymade top 10 footballers have made a big comeback in the last few drafts - Kreuzer, Cotchin, Rich, Hurley, etc...
-
Just on another matter Jesse White from the Sydney Swans showed a fair bit. Hes the type of forward that we are lacking. A big size, fantastic mobility. Is he contracted to Sydney next year? Certainly one to look at if hes available.
-

I can't see the Swannies letting him go now that Hall is gone. In any case players now days don't walk out on one club and to another for free. It's going to cost a first round pick so pass. Let's make a rule to draft and develop our own from now on.
-

Straight swap for Foley Ramps?? :whistle
-
Blues flogged by 9 goals :lol. Fev doesn't fire and their scoring dries up. Judd's probably thinking he should have stayed at the Eagles lol. Shocking game btw with turnovers galore. Hard to see either side lasting long in September.
-
How good was the Geelong Hawthorn game :clapping. Bartel marks on the siren and kicks a point to win the game.
It's going to be hard for the Hawks now to make the finals.
-

If you want to get Fev firing every week, you need to tell him he's about to break a different milestone. He only plays for himself.
-
Geez the swannies are pushing the saints.
Scores tied with 3 minutes to go.
-
Saints win by 1.
-
We probably shouldn't be surprised the Swans pushed the Saints to the line given Lyon and Roos would know each other's gameplan and thoughts intimately from Lyon's time under Roos as an assistant.
The Hawks' finals chance look gone now. Lost to Port today and have the Saints coming up next week. The freakish record of a top 4 side crashing out of the top 8 the following year up the final 8 system continues. Port may scrape in now at Essendon's expense especially if the Bombers lose today.
-
Looks like only 8th spot is the only spot up for grabs after the Blues beat the Cats by 6 goals. The Cheats are now on 44 pts two games clear of Port in 8th and 3 games clear of Essendon and Hawthorn.
-
The cheats winning tonight was a terrible result, and one I didn't anticipate. Now I can only hope the maggotpie scums bid for a top four finish gets torpedoed by the Crows tomorrow night, otherwise there'll be twice as many sleepless nights come September. On a brighter note, the cricket's going well.
-
Geelong look the walking wounded at the minute. Backline has been decimated so they couldn't control Fev and Stevie J who was doubtful beforehand shouldn't have played. The Cats ressie fill-in players aren't up to the same quality of their stars to pull off their normal high possession gameplan. Keeping them to 60 less disposals was a great effort by the Blues as much as I hate to admit it. The best game the Blues have played in the past 2 months by a long shot.

Yes, but MT, I'd rather gargle with live grenades than give Carlton or Collingwood credit for ANYTHING.
-
what a kick in the guts watching the blues in the finals much like the Hawks last year.
Those teams were as useless as us a few years ago now look where they are and look where we are.
Blues were smart, call it tanking call it what you will but they are a real descent team now. Yes if Fev doesn't fire they are useless but finals awaits them where as another 3-5 year plan awaits us

;D :thumbsup
Eagles 35 points up on the Doggies. 7.3-45 to 0.10-10 :o
-
Eagles back in front after giving up a 47 point lead. 2 mins to go. Go Eagles
-
Eagles won :thumbsup and the Saints with half their side out knocked off the Hawks :o.
-
Good on the Bombers stuffing up in the last 16 seconds lol. Not happy Jans on bomberblitz with Lonergan's brainfade :nope

Two years on.
Bomber fans are still somewhere between stage 2 and 4 MT. :lol
-
Nice to see Freo beat Port to keep the race for 8th spot alive for Hawthorn Sydney and our deluded friends on Bomber Blitz.
If Freo beat Melbourne next week they will go above us we will more than likely finish in 15th spot.
-

:lol :rollin
-
The Bombers look like knocking off the Saints :o
-
The Saints came home like a train but cry baby missed the shot to pinch it with 15 secs to go :wallywink.
After that win you'd reckon the Dons will beat Freo although they didn't travel well to Subi last time. If the Bombers win that one and Port lose away to Brisbane they're in. If not then it'll come down to Hawthorn vs Essendon in the last round.
-
He'd be the last guy i'd want taking an after the siren shot to win a game! :lol
Good to finally see Port knocked out of the 8 (for now) they don't deserve to be there.
-

I went, great game'.
Actually watched Reidwoldt in the warm ups, missed every shot, no surprise he missed the shot after the siren

For the Bombers sake I hope the Ryder injury isn't serious
Most improved player in the comp by a long long way is Paddy Ryder :thumbsup

Bugger three weeks out.
Stuffed up my supercoach team with only Clancee Pearce and Wojinski on the bench and no trades left.
-
whats more scary about tonights win by the Buldogs by 14 points is i really think the Pies are going to steal the flag this year much like the Hawks last year.
They are primed are well drilled and i hope im wrong but Saints are seriel chockers. Cats are nothing but a flash in the pan with no Forward line. They rely on Mooney and if he doesn't fire they are stuffed. They have underachieved simple as that.
Pies just might have everyones measure this year and to be honest i think id rather Mclovin gets a new 5 year contract than to see Eddie jump up and down and all those maggots like Nick Maxwell drinking champas on the g.

l be happy if the Skunks win the flag, :thumbsup
McLovin be boarding with you soon Daniel ;D he wants your body :lol
-
Wife just told me Roos beat Saints ;D
Freo flogging Bombers, tell me footy is not rigged & hawks will flog Bombers next week & fall into the 8 :banghead :banghead
-
:lol Tigers fall to 15th. :rollin
-
That's a positive. The draft system rewards lower finishes. Better to finish 15th than 9th.
Our record last year would have got us easily into the finals this year :(. Our timing as impeccable as ever :P. What a joke 10 wins can get you into the top 8. Just shows how many average teams there are this year.
I see a stat on BF that says no team that lost 2 of their last 4 H/A games has won a flag. Don't know if that true or not but ever since the Saints rested those 8 players they've mucked up their form.
-
That's a positive. The draft system rewards lower finishes. Better to finish 15th than 9th.
Pick 3 coming our way hopefully.
Oh McMahon, I wished you would have missed that goal
-
I can't believe that any Richmond supporter would be happy to see the Skunks win. The idea of either Collingwood or Carlton being anywhere but the deepest pit of Hell on the last day of September is unbearable.
-
Jack Dyer would be turning in his grave to hear a Tigers' fan happy to see Collingwood with the flag :chuck. Hopefully they choke as usual in September even though they are looking very good :help.
Oh McMahon, I wished you would have missed that goal
Has he kicked one since? He's missed three gimmes on the run since that kick.
-
Another massive melee in the Hawks vs Bombers game. Lloyd's and Lovett-Murray's seasons are over thanks to the tribunal. I guess Essendon won't care though because it changed the game with the Hawks down to just two on the bench and the Bombers are now in the finals.
Poor Max Bailey did his 'good' knee early on after coming back from two ACLs in the other one.
-
Well at least there's been one positive from the weekend - Carlton got flogged :thumbsup.
Adelaide are a bit of a smokey although they've just fallen short of the top 4 clubs during the year.
-
bloody swans back in the game. great down by 1 with 3 mins left.
a win by the swans means a home game for the Blues against the lions..great!!! :banghead
-
Lions held on to win by 8. So an interstate final for the Blues up at the 'Gabba.
Two of the best ever speccies you'll see last night. Burton did a Roachy over the top of the pack and Mitch Clark for a big guy leapt up kneeling on one leg on the back of a Swan to take a high chest mark.
-
Dogs need two goals in 3 minutes to move into third.
-
One goal in two minutes
-
Dogs into third at the minute.
Think Dogs would be happy with this. They match up better with Geelong than St Kilda. Collingwood St Kilda would be very interesting.
-
That was sweet :lol. Shuts up those Pies fans thinking the premiership was a cakewalk :wallywink. I would laugh my head off now if they went out in straight sets.
Dogs looking very good. I wouldn't begrudge them a flag after 55 years.
