If I was Kossi, Ryan, Lefau, Gray, Miller Blight or Young I would want to ge a kick next year, they won't all be there come 2027

We only got one KPD so the backs won't be as worried as the forwards, we also only drafted a hybrid forward/undersized ruck with  Ryan contracted for three years as Nank edges towards the end with only a couple of cat B basketballers behind him and any list should have at least three rucks. Lefau can also play in the guts - Fawcett, Gray.  & Kosi  the most under pressure I'd say. :shh
Imagine Ryan as your number 1 ruck, can't say I can see it happening, hope he comes good

Last game notwithstanding his best AFL games have been when Nank was out and. he was the #1 ruck. :shh
Don't disagree on Ryan's best position but I think the draft strategy is vote of no confidence in our current crop of talls

Maybe so but seeing as we only just gave Ryan a 3 year extension a few month backs, I'd say, rightly or wrongly, he clearly wasn't one of the subjects of that no confidence vote.  :shh

What about hysterical rants comparing the AFL to the KKK because the draft didn't meet some imaginary racial quota? :shh

 ::)

Someone gave an opinion and as a joke (yes a very poor one) used a poor analogy ..isn't the 1st and certainly won't be the last

My comment wasn't directed at any one poster but was to simply get the posts in this thread back on topic.

Want to me take it further? I can and will edit and hand out suspensions if that's what you're suggesting

I love this pick because it was for a player we just had to have! Blair trading back into the draft to get a player they were thinking of taking in the twenties. The best part of claiming this small little star is that it fills another need. In one draft, we now have what other teams have tried to assemble through the draft over half a decade.

We now have three mids: one player maker, one inside bull and one elusive outside creator.
We also have two key forwards (& a half): one aggro tall beast and one explosive marking lead.
Add to this a interceptor marking defender, a agile ruck/forward and a clever small crumber.

So all in all, we have addressed all of our fundamental needs in one draft (and mostly in one draft round).

It's hard not be feel excited about the future.

Here here.

Then 2025 draft, outside running mids and rebounding defenders with pace and we are laughing.

Sounds good to me.
