To me this is not to different than the Cuz thing, and most likely the same old boring farts that have never played up and made a fool of themselves on the p1ss are the same people who did not want Cuz at the club. Are we that that good we can turn away superstars because it might get a bit hard at times!

Wake up people and jump down from your high horses, this is football and some of the people playing it are not angels.

If we were able to snare Fev in the PSD than imo we should, and try to get this patheticly proformed side where we belong!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Firstly, there is no way he will be available in the PSD. The only way he can be in the PSD is if Carlton sack him, which they wont do and there are 1400K reason why they wont sack him. Sack him and they have to pay out his contract and it goes in the 2009 salary cap....

Sorry but I see a very big difference between the Cousins & Fevola situation.

Cousins was sacked (eventually) by the Eagles and he was suspended by the AFL for 12 months for bringing the game into disrepute. Suspended from playing even though he never actually tested positive to anything just admittedg he had a drug problem. While the AFL continue to protect other players who have 2 strikes but hey they haven't bought the game in disrepute but I digrese

Fev on the other hand has yet again got on the grog and made a goose of himself. Do we need to list them... Ireland, Prahran, mad Monday 2008 & 2009 and now the brownlow... and his punishment is not any form of suspension from playing but a slap on the wrist and token fine and now Carlton want to trade him....

Finally Cousins worked his butt off to turn his situation around, admitted he made massive mistakes and did something about it... Fev on the other hand just continues to stuff up and makes no attempt to change his pathetic ways

Not even close to being similar situations I wouldn't think...
All just good spin!
WP, ever thought of getting a gig with the HUN? You seem to be able to twist things just to suit your opinion.
Lets take a look at Fevs mistakes as you ‘reported’ them

Ireland- got into a fight, well not even a fight, grabbed a guy in a headlock, big deal! I'm sure everyone on here has been in a scuffle from time to time. So not really that bad when you break it down. Stupid yes, but not damming.

Prahran- peeed on a window, sure not ideal but when you need to go you need to go. Even our very own captain did the same and got a slap on the wrist for it. Again not ideal but not enough to condemn the man.

Mad Monday 08 and 09- Had a rubber d1ck as a prop! Surely on Mad Monday when anything could just about happen when 40 or so guys are letting their hair down after nearly 12 months of training/playing footy, the worst thing is a rubber d1ck. Childish yes, career ending no. Is it really that bad I ask you WP?

And Brownlow, bad and probably worse than we know just yet, but out of all theses thing you mentioned this is the only thing imo that may need a bit of explaining.

Remember, we, the public put theses guys on a pedestal from a young age, pay them ridiculas amounts of money, girls throw themselves at them, make them roll models to all kids but forget sometimes these guys are just young (in the ways of the world) because they have been in this environment where they live and breath footy. I'm just surprised there are not more incidents involving more AFL footballers.

As for Cuz, weather he has ever tested positive to drugs or not, he was a drug addict.  Self confessed! He was involved with criminals, ran from the police while over the limit or with drugs on him. Went overseas to get help and went on a week bender. So the facts are he was no saint!!
And yet you think these two are streets apart!!

Since then he has done everything right and rightfully so he was given another chance to prove himself. Fev is no saint either but for f@#ks sake let keep it in prospective.

Fev for free. Damm straight ill take that.

If Richo doesnt play on, then Fev can slide nicely in the forward line to help develop Jack and Post.

yes i did say over 26's is a no no but i was referring to players on the brink of selection at their respective clubs. Fev is not one of them.

He is an A Grade Footballer for at least 3/4 years.

Now i base my opinion on if he slides through to the PSD and we get him for NOTHING.

I also base this on the fact he has done only what has been reported, because if you ask me there are a lot of footballers who have done worse than Fevola like ones that punch up and glass women.

Yeah still doesnt make sense to me when you said no way to players such as Burgoine (spelling?), and the like, we are either re- building in your mind or we are not... just make your mind up.

Without a doubt!

Can i be any clearer!

Who gives a flying stuff what this fool does when he gets drunk as long as he is kicking goals and winning games for the RFC.

He is 28 and if what some of you computer know alls are right our window of oppotunity will be in 2 to 3 years time when Fev will be early 30s and will still be kicking goals for whoever he is playing for.

To me this is not to different than the Cuz thing, and most likely the same old boring farts that have never played up and made a fool of themselves on the p1ss are the same people who did not want Cuz at the club. Big tone, you are missing a big point! It is not his behaviour whilst on the turps that is the only issue. Why should 41 other blokes at a club have to pull their head in and Fev gets a free ride? He has been getting away with it for years and now he thinks he is immune to it! What would club morale be like if if a player was kept or allowed to grope players wives or girlfriends and not be sanctioned? If you behaved like that at your work christmas function  then you would be sacked! If it happened at home or in private then i would agree but Fevs indiscretions happen in public and that is not acceptable!

Oh and btw big tone, if we did the same thing as Fev then i think that gives us the right to condemn his behaviour. Just because we acted like a dill many moons ago does not mean we not dislike what he did! Those who don't learn from their mistakes aredoomed to repeat them!

Point is big tone - Fev isn't young he is 28 years old, a father of 2 small girls with another on the way for crying out loud and he continues to do the same things over and over. He doesn't take repsonsibility for anything.

Yes all his antics are that bad because it hasn't happened once it happens constantly when he goes on the grog. The solution is very simple he shouldn't drink but he chooses not to stop

And btw I glad you think getting put in headlock by a drunken idiot is no big deal - must remember to tell that to the young 18 yo footballer who ended up in intensive care after being bashed and then put in a headlock long enough to lose consciencenous

What I find strange (bordering on funny) is that people keep saying we need to re-build as we are are 5 years away from being close a decent side, we needed to tank to get early picks and now suggesting we put all that to one side and try and get a 28 yo to the club ..... because the only way Fev will go anywhere is for a first round pick or a really gun player.... because as I said he aint going to end up in the PSD

Won't happen as he's contracted but just putting it out there as a hypothetical ....

If Carlton couldn't get a trade done next week yet still wanted to offload Fev, would you take him in the PSD if you were in charge of the RFC and agreed to take on his existing contract off Carlton?

Keep in mind the thread opener folks, we all know it aint going to happen it is just a hypothetical

I would rather see Big Bird line up at full forward for Richmond.

Fev is the "Mark Jacko Jackson" of the new millennium.

This is GOLD!!!

The amount of Spiro's and Vinces ringing up the radio saying they will tear up their memberships and barrack for someone else its pure gold.  One Gino wanted to trade Fev for Pavlich!  ahahahah some people are kidding themselves.

Carlton a mess again turning on themselves , does it get any better?

There are apparently about 100 of them down at Visy Park now according to SEN. I have an appointment down there at 2, I think i will grab some pop corn and sit out the front with them for an hour and just FLMAO.

Im off now..lol

For the sake of reality.

FEV IS NOT UP FOR GRABS FOR FREE!

He is contracted to the tune of $1.4 million over 2 more years and cannot go into the PSD unless Carlton sack him pay him out that amount, which they will not do.

Some of you need to get some perspective, Carlton are not having a clearance sale here, they will want substance for a FF that kicks plenty of goals, no matter what kind of a goose he is off the paddock.  Pick 90 or pick 40 for that matter, or the PSD, is not going to do the business!!!

To be fair the first two words in the thread are "Won't happen...."

Reality is there are a number of scenarios for Carlton to consider ....

Fev stays and kicks 100 next year
Fev is traded for a first round pick and a player
.
.
.
.
.
.
Fev stays, team harmony is destroyed, players fed up, Carlton miss the finals.

Difficult to know which will happen, but if it is the last then Carlton will look back and wish they had sacked him or traded him for a modest return.

Fair enough then the_boy_jake, but even so so I ask why the stuff would we even bother with a thread on it?  Totally and utterly pointless to discuss.

In the end, Carlton are the Dumbasses who removed the acting up clause and thus giving fev all the power in this little soap opera we have going on atm. Personally, they can keep him! They still won't win a premiership next year with or without him. I hate to say this but If fev has any grey matter, he will realise this and move over to Collingwood knowing that he probably has a better chance at a premiership there than at Carlton.

I don't rate Ratten as a coach and to be totally honest, I can't see them ever winning a premiership whilst he is at the helm. How a team with a mix of quality senior players and a group of outstanding youngsters with plenty of games under their belt can't make a GF has me totally baffled.

Here is an interesting scenario put forward on the AFL site today.  Has no relevance to us but while we are discussing wankers and lying, cheating filth........

What if ... Fev was a three-way trade?
8:00 AM Thu 01 October, 2009

NOW THAT Carlton has declared it will be seeking to trade Brendan Fevola, perhaps the Blues will look to use this opportunity to trade more than just Fevola and instead look to reshape their team significantly.

WHAT IF ...

... Carlton trades with Sydney Swans and Fremantle in the following scenario?

1. The Swans trade Ryan O’Keefe, Ed Barlow & Barry Hall to Carlton
2. The Swans trade Ryan Brabazon to Fremantle
3. Carlton trades Brendan Fevola, Eddie Betts, Steven Browne, Dennis Armfield and its third round draft pick to Fremantle
4. Carlton trades its 2nd round draft pick to the Sydney Swans
5. Fremantle trades Chris Tarrant to Carlton
6. Fremantle trades Matthew Pavlich and Brett Peake to the Sydney Swans

What Carlton gets
The Blues wind up with O’Keefe, Hall, Barlow and Tarrant, allowing for greater depth and flexibility to both their defence and forward structures.

What Fremantle gets
Freo receives a ready-made, successful forward duo in Fevola and Betts, three hard running and pacy defender/midfielders in Armfield, Browne and Brabazon (all originally from WA) and an additional third round draft pick.

What the Swans get
In Pavlich, the Swans receive a player who provides class and flexibility in both attack and midfield: an outside runner who fills that particular gap in their current list. They also receive an additional second round draft pick

What do you think of this trade scenario?
