[Simmonds re-signing] means 23-year-old ruckman Adam Pattison will be moved on, while former No.12 pick Jay Schulz has been swapped for Port Adelaide 20-year-old Mitch Farmer.
Pattison was a No.16 selection in the infamous 2004 national draft, along with Brett Deledio (pick No.1), Richard Tambling (4), Danny Meyer (12) and Dean Polo (20).
Meyer is gone, Polo has been an underperformer and Tambling has had to deal with constant comparisons after Richmond overlooked Hawthorn's Lance Franklin.
In recent weeks the club has delisted former No.8 selection Kayne Pettifer, No.9 selection Jarrad Oakley-Nicholls, No.24 selection Cleve Hughes and No.25 selection Mark Coughlan.
The club has five quality picks in this year's national draft, with Hardwick intent on overhauling the list.
