The Brisbane Lions and Melbourne Demons will play the AFL's first ever match in China next year.
As part of Shanghai's international expo, the Lions and Demons will clash in an exhibition match at the historic Jiangwan Stadium next October.
At the moment Australia's brand of football is restricted to local university students and expats.
However the AFL is hoping that by playing the game in the city, it will attract a much wider audience in the world's most populous nation.
