Crawf tips Richmond for the spoon but praises Dimma (Herald-Sun)

Crawford has forecast more pain for Richmond and Melbourne supporters, who he tips to fight out the wooden spoon.

After doing his homework over summer training and looking at all 16 AFL teams, he says the Demons' skill level in the pre-season has been ordinary.

But Crawford expects the Tigers, under first-year coach Damien Hardwick, to finish last.

"Damien has a great game plan and a great understanding of the game," he said.

"He does not want to coach a team to make the finals; he wants to coach a team to win a premiership.

"That's why he is prepared to take a few steps backwards to go forwards."

I once got into a terrible row at the footy with a Hawthorn supporter for referring to Crawford as a chicken-sucking -aggot, and my opinion of him hasn't changed much in the intervening years.

Crawf was a Tiger supporter as a kid. I think that is coming out of him since he's retired. He written a few opinions about us in the past year. I hope he is right too in this case. Another top 4 pick is what we need to add more class to the side. We all want Dimma to build a side that can win a flag. We've waited this long already a couple of a more ordinary years to finally do things right won't kill us.
