Are you kidding me or what, "playing lists mean nothing in practice matches"

No, dead serious.  They don't mean a thing in practice matches.  You can have the best looking list on paper but because it's a proctice match you decide to try your best forwards out as defenders, rucks as forwards, practice the skill of 'keepings off' instead of your normal attacking gameplan, change your normal rotations to blood kids, etc etc etc.  There are a thousand things you might/can do in practice matches that bear no resemblance to the performance of a team in the real season, and because of that you can put no stock in a.  the list, and b. the result.

I know its a practice match and I am treating it the same as you were thats why your post didnt make any sense to me, just because I said we should win. If we go into this game with the side we have on paper practice match or not we should beat the Cats as they have 80% of their best GF side out. Do you really think playing lists mean nothing.

No, I don't believe you are treating it the same as me, otherwise you would have placed no expectations on a win.

Honestly dont you think we should win this based on our team on paper, if not I am not sure when you want or expect us to win because this will be just about our best side minus maybe 4 average players.

See above.  I have no expectations of any result - there are so many variables in a practice match that to set any expectation based on names alone is a folly.  We will probably lose because of where are coming from as a club but it's a practice match - who knows what Hardwick or Thompson have planned for their respective teams?

Yeah ok, don't really think Hardwick would want to change too much around at the moment, wouldnt you think he would be getting the players to practice the game plan, rather than playing keepings off or playing players out of position?? Thats the one of the main reasons for a practice isnt it, as well as playing the kids, thats what I would have thought. Why would he go mucking around with his game plan or "playing keepings off"when our players cant get a handle on the game plan yet. Sorrry, doesnt seem logical to me.

Well listening to the game I didn't notice any of our players playing out of position nor did I notice a game of keepings of.

Just 5 Tigers over 23 y.o. compared to 12 Cats. Yep we were such a mature side today according to dopey K-Rock  :wallywink.

The only difference is the Cats can bring in another half-a-dozen or so mature star premiership players for the real stuff which we don't have.

Actually this just might highlight the fact that we have more depth than the Cats, we also had a few players out, nothing like the calibre of
the Cats but still..
