Richmond will strengthen its proud father-son tradition with Andrew Raines and Tommy Roach set to wear the numbers their fathers made famous.
Raines will the wear No. 4 next year, the number his father Geoff wore in three best and fairest years and the 1980 premiership, while Roach takes over the No.8 in which father Michael became seven-time leading goal kicker and key member of the 1980 Premiership side.
While the No. 4 guernsey became available with Matthew Rogers retirement, Kane Pettifer who offered his guernsey to Roach.
Both Michael Roach and Geoff Raines are thrilled their sons will spend their careers in the same numbers they wore to premiership success.
"I'm rapt Andrew will be wearing it too, because I know it's something he's been striving for...the whole way through his junior career he wore No.4... and I hope he can carve out his own identity in at Tigerland," Raines said.
All four of Richmond's father-son players including Matthew Richardson and Joel Bowden will now wear the same numbers their fathers wore at Punt Road.

I personally think i'ts a bit premature giving them these numbers.
Pettifer will wear no. 15 and Simmonds no. 5.
