One positive was the pleasure of watching Rioli play.  He was a class above today.  Wish there was a Uncle-Nephew draft rule!

The other thing for me was Newman - sensational today best game I've seen him play and as a captain... well today he played like one - inspiring

You're a stirrer MT  :rollin

You know that I praise when it's deserved and give the whacks when they are called for

I will say it again for you - he was sensational today and played like the captain we as a yuong team desparately need.  :bow :bow He deserves every bit of credit that comes his way this week - that's how good he was IMHO

Look Ox they all made some shocking errors at times. Cotchn kicked straight to the opposition a couple of times that resulted in easy turnovers but I thought he was close to BOG. Our skill level and decision making let us down terribly at times but the things I really enjoy eg attacking the footy and the defensive efforts were first rate.

Yes that kick of Newman's in the final qtr was a shocker, incredibly costly but over 4 qtrs I thought he was fantastic.

As for Lids - I thought he was very good as well. A couple of times he looked poor when we were all flooding forward and turned over the ball and the Hawks got it back in their F50 to blokes who were unmarked and Lids was the only one getting back there. Like others he butchered some of his kicks but I thought he was very good.

Lids still had a 94% disposal efficiency rate

Can't agree re. Luke Mc.  He was diabolical today.  Franklin was ok, but a bit underdone.  mcGuane has no idea.  He is the very last player on our list that you want to see with the ball in his hand.  Absolutely no hope.  Shouldn't play again.  :banghead

Maybe you should go and play on Franklin. You'll never bag Mcguane after that you fool  8)

Mate I am offering my opinion, not just based on yesterday, but based on most of his shambolic career.  he was hopeless.

He was very good and usually is very good. Has good skills but can have a brain fade. I wasn't worried one bit about his kick to deledio. Just a risky kick. You should stop taking things for granted and realise mcguane will a very good defender by the time he reaches 25 and reduces the brain fades  8)

He and thursty are 23 and on the improve. Wait until they are 5+kg bigger and 50 games more experienced. They'll be very good 2nd and 3rd tall defenders. Get Post and Gourdis in there and we have a strong defence.
