Tigers snap losing streak EAGER to prove wrong the doubters, Richmond midfielder Brett Deledio says the Tigers expect to win again this season after their first victory against Port Adelaide on Saturday.

Deledio said yesterday the Tigers had never lost faith that their first win was just around the corner, encouraged by the improvement the young group has shown.

Their 47-point thrashing of the Power at Adelaide's sodden AAMI Stadium was the Tigers' first home-and-away win since last year's Round 18 victory over Melbourne.

Deledio said talk the Tigers would not win this season had galvanised the team, which had never wavered from its game plan under new coach Damien Hardwick.

"You see teams we're playing being tipped to have the highest score and we probably have a joke about it," Deledio said. "But we are just out there to prove people wrong and get as much experience into the young boys as we can.

"We know we are not going to be No. 1 side this year, but we will be in years to come.

"We have got complete faith in the system we play and the structures that have been set up by Damien and the assistant coaches. We were improving every week with the exception of probably the Geelong game.

"We were close against Hawthorn, too, but we couldn't get the choccies that day."

With win No. 1 under the belt, Deledio said there was no reason the Tigers should not believe they were capable of tasting more success.

"We go into every game with confidence, so there is no reason why we can't win more games than we lose," Deledio said.

"I would be lying if I said we go into games expecting to lose. I go into all games expecting to win.

"Getting a win and creating these winning cultures is what we are trying to do."

Deledio said belting out the club song in the rooms after the game had been the most enjoyable part of the win.

"It was good for the young boys just to experience the win and to get to sing the song was probably the best thing for the day," he said.

"I think we had four or five blokes plus Damien sitting in the middle there while we sang the song.

"It was just a great feeling.

"It was just pure elation. I was just rapt to get a win for Damien, for all the assistant coaches for all the hard work they have done and especially for all the young boys ... it was just fantastic."

After celebrating their win, the Tigers have just a six-day turn-around before Friday night's clash against St Kilda at Etihad Stadium, but Deledio said the team was already looking forward to its next challenge.

"They'll be a tough opponent as everyone is, week in week out," Deledio said.

"That's another great challenge to see where we're at."
