Richmond’s Jayden Post and Andrew Browne were among Coburg’s best in its narrow VFL loss to the Northern Bullants on Saturday.

Coburg went down by just six points away from home, 16.9.105 to 15.9.99.

Only one point separated the two teams at half time and three quarter time, in what coach David Newett described as an even four quarter performance.

“I can’t complain about the boys’ endeavour or commitment,” Newett said.

“We just didn’t make the most of our opportunities when we went inside 50.

“We had plenty of chances to win the game in the last quarter, but we just couldn’t grab our opportunities, which was disappointing.”

Post booted four goals and looked dangerous in a number of positions on the ground, while Browne collected 17 possessions in the ruck against quality opponents in Robert Warnock and Shaun Hampson.

Mitch Morton also kicked four the Tigers, while the major ball-winners included Daniel Connors (31 disposals), Jordan McMahon (23), Alex Rance (20), Adam Thomson (20), Tom Hislop (17) and Dean Polo (17).

Both deserve a spot in the Seniors before a Simmonds charity game.
Go Tigers!
