balme approached in august
« on: December 03, 2004, 07:49:57 PM »
i find it strange that neil balme was approached in august to join the tigers as football manager, but declined as he wasnt happy with the current board...

why did the alt come out and support greg and state they thought he was doing an excellent job and would happily have him on board if they were to win...

in actual fact he would have been replaced by balme if he accepted the position...

in some way perhaps this is the reason that greg has decided to stand because basically he could/will be out of a job if the alt ticket get in, obviously the alt ticket didnt want to seem to be giving him the shaft as in his short time he has garnered a lot of support from those tiger fans and it wouldnt be a great start to try and win office= lose of votes for alt ticket

so back him and when he nominated himself he quite possibly lost the support of some of those people who wanted him to remain, when in actual fact he was going to be replaced regardless...

wonder if the alt will come out and explain all this for us, why do i get the feeling that there is more to this especially between greg and brendan schwab.... :banghead

Reading BF someone got their wires crossed. Apparently the Club and not the alternative approached Balme in August to replace Greg Hutchison's role as football manager but he declined. Not new news. IIRC Balmey told KB at the time that he was happy at Collingwood. Remember Miller is director of football not the footy manager. When Wallace became coach he brought Paul Armstrong along with him who's our new football manager.

Miller was ticked off when Pahoff then the alternative with Schwab leader made their first threats of forcing an EGM while Greg was negotiating with Wallace to become our coach. Remember from his email to Pahoff that he briefly considered leaving at that time out of frustration towards their destructive actions.

It's further evidence that this bunch of cowboys are attempting to add "depth" to it's call by commercialising the names of past players, with no real declarations for improvement other than
pointing out everything wrong with the past  years,of which some were a part of.
LMAO !

What a sad pack of inept big-mouths. :sleep
