I must have watched a different game, thought Connors was one of our best.

We must have been on the channel... :thumbsup

I thought Connors did fairly well actually.  Obviously the big thing was his shocking manning up at times, hopefully he is a bit underdone because if that awful defending was due to lack of drive or laziness then he won't make it in the AFL

Conners was a hack

couldnot hit a barn door that was 10m x 10m, can only use one side of his body the left. turns it over, kicks OOTF when could have used the other side of his body to ease preasure. But the most important part of the game is watching your opponant. Conners does not respect any opponant & while his off chasing ghosts his team-mates are trying to cover for him cause he is nowhere near his man who is constantly setting up goals.
If he gets in anyones best players for that performace then whos watching football
he did the same against Essendon practise game,  got the ball but kicked it to ghosts

he should be bent over & raped by soccerhead

Hey WP I noticed in another thread you didn't seem to rate Connors... yet again. ;D. But you thought Edwards was better, and then I read the forums and the papers and all seem to say that Connors was one of our best. Are you annoyed that your mate Polo isn't in or that Edwards is actually no good and you have been talking them both up over Connors over the pre season or what??

Other people including the media were at the the game and they rated Connors, has he got a photo of you with a goat or what.. :thumbsup :thumbsup :lol :lol ;D ;D

Joking, please don't ban me... ::)

I take it you are trying to bait me with your wit and intellect.

What has Polo got to do with Thursday night's game?

I really haven't made much comment about Thursday night's game.

But how did I think Connors went? Yes he was our highest possession winner but defensively he was terrible. There was one instance at the Punt Road end where he needed to attack the contest to help a team mate and stood there and did nothing while Carlton easily fed the ball out to Connors opponent no less and Dan continued to stand and didn't chase his own opponent. Now you and the media may think this sort of thing is OK because Dan managed to be our highest possession winner but I don't especially when one of the mantra's of the new coach is that when it is your time to go you go... that is one of my issues with Connors....

Now don't take this the wrong way but you are on the WEST COAST and I am on the EAST COAST and I was actually at the game and I will repeat what I have said many times - you see a helluva lot more at the game than what the TV shows you ... so unless the camera's pick up blokes not chasing and putting in 2nd efforts you really wouldn't know but as I said don't take that the worng way because it isn't your fault

As for the media - there is not a doubt in my mind they base their bests on stats... The HUNS best players clearly showed that... they had Cuz in the best...Cuz had a shocking night - turnover king +++++

Regarding Edwards - I thought he was average at best - his turnovers killed any chance of him being considered good on the night.

Comeback Connors on right track: Hardwick

DANIEL Connors has had an interesting 2010. Averaging over 20 possessions a game for the first three rounds, he was sitting pretty in a turbulent Richmond team, but then came the Sydney post-match.

The Tigers had travelled to the harbour city and were on the wrong end of a 55-point belting at the hands of the (then) high-flying Swans, which was bad enough, but then a late-night drinking expedition - which came to a halt when Brownlow medallist Ben Cousins explained to Connors via a well-placed punch that his behaviour was out of line - was worse.
