I dont know Stripes.....maybe Im still caught up in the Euphoria of winning 3 out of 4.

Maybe we need another butt whipping at the hands of Sydney to jolt optimists like myself back into reality.

However I would suggest based on current form we would give Freo,North,Adelaide,Melb,Carlton and Port a decent run for their money.

But this is a "Dog eat Dog" competition and as you said circumstances can change quickly.

Rd 14 Sydney MCG
Rd 15 Freo     Dock
Rd 16 Kangas  MCG
Rd 17 Pies       MCG
Rd 18 Adelaide MCG
Rd 19 Melb      MCG
Rd 20 Carlton   MCG
Rd 21 Saints    Dock
Rd 22 Port       MCG

On paper there are quite a few 50/50 games comming up.

Which ones mat? The only games I think we may have a chance out at the moment are the North Melbourne, Adelaide, Melbourne and Port Adelaide. Of those I think North is more likely a 75% chance to win, Adelaide (improving) 65%, Melbourne (getting worse) 55% and Port Adelaide 50%.

Circumstances change quickly and we could beat anyone on the day but we seem to have a fairly tough run home IMHO.

Stripes

I would say the only game we have little chance of winning is St Kilda.  All the rest of them are capable of having on off day that would easily bring them down to a beatable level for us.  Fremantle is a good example - in the middle of the steep learning curve that was our early season, we led them to half time.  I would be willing to bet that this weeks side would not have been so easy to catch and run down as the one in round 4 was, and Fremantle are not playing as well now as they were then.  I don't expect us to win any more than maybe 3 more games but it is certainly not impossible for us to beat any one of those sides.

If we could claim the scalps of any one of the following three in either Carlton, Collingwood or Sydney, my three most HATED sides, I would be a very, very happy man.

forget about the other games really. A win against Adelaide, Port in melbourne big deal.

A win against quality sides like these 3 is much important than the rest.

those bottom sides really proves nothing other than we are capable of beating other lowly clubs, which we have been able to do other years apart from last.

The Herald-Sun reckons we'll finish with 7 wins...

Who'll win the AFL wooden spoon?

THERE'S one AFL "trophy" that no club wants to win ... the wooden spoon. But someone has to ..  and with eight rounds of the 2010 home-and-away season to go, there are still seven teams with a chance. Who do you think it will it be?

The wooden-spoon contenders:

RICHMOND

15th, 4-10, 16pts, 73.1%

To come
R15 Fremantle (ES)
R16 Nth Melb (MCG)
R17 Collingwood (MCG)
R18 Adelaide (MCG)
R19 Melbourne (MCG)
R20 Carlton (MCG)
R21 St Kilda (ES)
R22 Port Adel (ES)

WE SAY:
Wooden spoon "certaintees'' after Round 9, four wins in five matches has Richmond oh-so-close to getting out of jail. Form is good enough to roll North and Melbourne, and the Tigers would fancy themselves against Port in the last round if it came down to that.

The run home / ladder predictor

The run home
By Matthew Price
Sun 11 July, 2010

Here's the ladder predictor:
http://www.afl.com.au/ladder%20predictor/tabid/13046/default.aspx

15. Richmond
20 points (five wins, 10 losses), 75.72 per cent

The run home:
Rd 16: North Melbourne at the MCG
Rd 17: Collingwood at the MCG
Rd 18: Adelaide at the MCG
Rd 19: Melbourne at the MCG
Rd 20: Carlton at the MCG
Rd 21: St Kilda at Etihad Stadium
Rd 22: Port Adelaide at Etihad Stadium

Five wins in six games have many Tiger fans feeling that the club may have turned the corner. A friendly run home sees the club stay in Melbourne for its final seven games. Collingwood and St Kilda are the most daunting of the remaining opponents, and a surge up the ladder is a real possibility.

I think we will finish with 10 wins which coincidently could get us into the finals....or in 9th position ::)

I think every game other than against the Woods or the Saints are certainly winable with the team playing with the spirit they current are.  :thumbsup

RICHMOND

15th, 4-10, 16pts, 73.1%

To come
R16 Nth Melb (MCG)  :-\
R17 Collingwood (MCG)

R19 Melbourne (MCG)
R20 Carlton (MCG)  :pray
R21 St Kilda (ES)

We won't get into the finals with 10 wins and our %, unless we are battling North for 8th, and that looks less likely after yesterday.

I think we'll beat North, Adelaide and Melbourne at least. A team like Port might drastically improve with a new coach and senior players coming back. Our situation this year is that we might have a look at a few of the boys at Coburg from a list management side of things, but these guys (Polo, Morton etc) are hardly matchwinners.

Would also think that we would send any boys with niggles under the knife early.
