Browne vs Vickery?
« on: February 14, 2011, 11:06:33 PM »
With all the Vickery bashing I thought it necessary to ask this simple question.

I'd go with Vickery hes better in every aspect. kicking, marking, faster, more athletic, good below knees, contested marking, can go forward.
i would keep Vickery over Browne and invest time to develope him.

One is pick 8 and the other was a rookie pick. Both have some talent. Browne got promoted for round 1 in 09 because his pre-season form was so impressive (and also cuz Gus was pathetic).

Vickery might be faster, more athletic and whatever else but he's not getting a kick and doesn't take that many marks either. Both are only 20 odd and I'd be giving both more time to develop.

A fair comment from Davey. Just hope Browne is not another Ty Esler

Nil all draw
"The money might have been better. But, at the end of the day, Richmond showed faith in me. It's only fair that now we're 18th on the ladder, I show the faith back in the club and do everything I can to put them in front. In the end, I'm stoked I made the decision to stay. I f***ing love this club”

I'd be playing Graham/Vickery or Derricx/Browne as our ruck combos
Graham & Derricx are more mature bodies
Vickery & Brown are still only babies
This combo also has a taller pure ruck, plus a more mobile/versatile ruck in each one

Vickery. Not by much though, they've both got a fair bit of work to do.
Push up!

Vickery's lack of aggression really irks me. :-\
Time to step up Tyrone.

Again, this is pretty common for young rucks who are giving up so much weight in a contest
Problem is for most juniors you don't see them playing in the ruck at AFL level until they are 21-22 at a minimum. Vickery isn't even that old yet.

I'd say Vickery's game in Alice Springs puts him Way Way ahead of Browne.

Personaly I don't think browne will make it. But I hope I'm wrong.

Vickery has been in the system for 2-3 years......ffs, lets give him a go, we sure as hell has given more under developed players than him more of a go.

He needs to play as much as he can this year.....sorry, IMO.
