Brendan Lade was just interviewed on 3aw.....
* Lade was asked who is our No.1 ruckman? Lade replied we've got a nice group of young ruckman - Gus, Ty, BrownE and Derickx. Ruckmen don't fully develop till they are 25-26 y.o.. We'll be patient with them and whoever steps up will be No.1.
* Hardwick similar to Mark Williams - keeps the blokes upbeat; can be serious but also knows when to have a joke. More humerous than Chocco.
* What we are asking from our rucks today is a good contest and to not let Ben Hudson grab it out of the ruck which is something he regularly does. Gus shouldn't be dominated today and we believe he'll win the hitouts.
* Lade said he was mainly ruck and stoppage coach with a bit of midfield last year but now is the midfield coach. We did 2-3 hours on centre bounce work this week as it's been average. He joked he'll give it up if we are ordinary at centre bounces today lol.
* Gus - single best kick for goal at the moment for us after Tucky when he pushed forward. When his confidence is up he's hard to stop in the air.
* Cotch - rapts when he came to the club were high and it's all been justified.
* Our job as a coaching staff is to make the midfield group smarter so we don't have to send out so many messages all the time. Educate and develop them under different scenarios so they naturally improve.
