The allegations contained in the Intervention Order Complaint are just that allegations. King is entitled to have the full support of the club. To sack someone on the basis of unproven allegations is plainly wrong.

Interesting to know when this incident happened and how long it's been hanging over his head as Kingy has been M.I.A. onfield for the best part of the past two months. Needs to be dropped back to Coburg.

Meanwhile, forward Jake King is yet to be formally interviewed by police after being accused of threatening to harm a 29-year-old Sunbury man.

The club is taking the issue seriously but it seems unlikely to jeopardise his contract talks.

3aw just said Jake King in court with his lawyer has agreed to a 6-month extention of the intervention order. They didn't mention what happened regarding the incident.

From The Age:

Tiger King denies kill threat August 24, 2011 - 10:43AM

Richmond footballer Jake King has denied allegations that he threatened to kill a Melbourne man and his family.

King, 27, appeared in Broadmeadows Magistrates Court this morning where he did not oppose a six-month intervention order being made against him.

The court heard King did not admit the allegation, but consented to the order.

Magistrate John O'Callaghan told King that the orders were not made lightly and, if breached, could result in two years' jail or a $28,000 fine.

King appeared relaxed in court, laughing and smiling before the brief hearing.

The order will expire in February.
