MIKE'S VERDICT
A pass, but only just. Eight wins and a draw after six wins in 2010. Cotchin took another huge step forward, as did Martin and Vickery, and all three are critically important.

Ruck and the key defensive positions remain major issues. Rance become a reliable defender, while Houli's dash and penetrating kicking made him a fine pick-up.

Relatively disappointing year for Riewoldt, but he will be back. The Tigers will need to get a hurry-on next year.

Why the hurry on Mike? The vast majority of our list is 23 and under and apart from Newy all the rest of our few oldies are fringe players.

While I agree we need one, it's hard to see the Club going after a bluechip small forward given we've just re-signed both Nahas and Kingy  :P.

Would hardly call Jack's year a disappointing one.

Geez MT, if Nahas' consistent season, finishing with 29 goals didn't convince you, I would have thought his round 24 game against North would have finally won you over. Not just the 5 goals, but the brilliance of a couple of them, including the one from the smother and steal off the North player coming out of defence. And the courageous one where he stood under a high ball coming in, and of all the tall timber from both sides lurking in the area, this little 5 foot nothing bloke was the one who emerged with the mark right in front of goal. Brilliant stuff.
Look I know you think he's too small, but Eddie Betts is hardly a giant, and you wouldn't question his usefulness to Carlton. As long as we don't have too many midgets there is definitely a place in the team for players like Nahas.

Not one iota of sensationalist journalism in that article pertaining to the RFC. :-\
Break out year for the club is 2013. With a list as young as ours we can afford to wait considering we have been waiting for 31 years now.
