The AFL would then do us a favour by giving Jacko another stint in the stands and a sacking from the leadership group :clapping

pay that  :lol

Have you seen the footage?? cos I have
And although that type of spear tackle is allowed in the NRL it is not in the AFL
Furthermore any player in an NRL team would have in the back of their mind that, that move could happen at any time whilst in possesion of the ball...
Do you think Delidio knew what was coming to him? i guess not  ::)

Imagine if jacko did that to say.... marc murphy?? what would happen to him??  :o

Saw the footage on Ch7's news - not surprsied he got off

"spear" tackle - that wasn't no spear tackle, warranted a free kick but that was about all

I agree that the AFL haver different rules for different fools but IMV the MRP have got it right, nothing in either incident. Let's just hope they are consistent throughout season 2012

The one I am confused about is Butcher - last season he wouldn have got 5 weeks for that  :o

I think it's ok.

Let's just count our blessings Conca didn't have to serve his suspension in the season proper.

Id like to think that there's something in this thread for each one of us to take away and have a good long think about.

And yes, this will be on the test.

For the record who was the last player to be suspended for an indiscretion against a Richmond player?

Nothing in it, Deledio would have barely felt the tackle from Izzy. He landed on his back so it wasn't a spear tackle and he went down pretty gently if you ask me

I actually videoed the incident. I too thought there was nothing in it. As you will see from my angle, Lids had his arm around Izzy's neck which forced the awkward dismount.

For those interested, I put the clip on my YouTube Channel. Enjoy the HD quality  ;D

If you look on past the incident, I was more concerned about Tucky with his blinkers on and bombing into the fwd line to a mismatch (Davis on Nahas) when Rance was tearing down the wing unmarked screaming for the ball and being ignored.

The incident I was more concerned about was the earlier report where he roughed up Jackson. For mine it deserved a week for sure.

What a surprise! :nope  :whistle

MRP's official spiel is the force applied in both incidents (against Jacko and Lids) wasn't worthy of a report.

If this was an RFC player how much weeks would he have copped?
