Players Avail Around Pick 15 - any preferences?
« on: November 04, 2011, 08:03:30 PM »
...seen a few phantom drafts that have the following "kids" avail and/or being selected around our pick 15 mark...think there's a couple that will more than likely be gone by the time our choice comes around but put them on this list anyway...

anyone have any choices, preferences or suggestions as to who we should (and could) get?

Nick Haynes - 191cm 76kg tall forward
Toby Greene - 180cm 78kg small mid (some have him going earlier, some think he'll slide a bit)
Liam Sumner - 182cm 73kg small mid (another that some have as high as 5 - 8 while others suggest could drop down depending on what GWS decide to stock pile)
Shane Kersten - 190cm 88kg mid/tall forward
Sam Docherty - 183cm 85kg med defender (will most likely be gone as GWS spread their picks based on position but could be a slider)
Seb Ross - 187cm 82kg med mid
Devon Smith - 175cm 73kg small mid/forward
Billy Longer - 202cm 96kg ruck (expected to go fairly early but apparently GWS aren't "sold" as best ruckman going around in juniors though is sure to be an early pick)

...obviously there are some others that will be in the mix - this was just based off a few phantom drafts doing the rounds...any of these seem possible/probable or any other names that people would like to throw out there?

Grigg..... A real in and under Hard nut with a booming left foot! If this kid is still about at 15 we need to jump on him! Would play every game next season ;)

Sam Docherty for me.  :pray This kid has elite foot skills and a ton of pace. Listed as a defender but as others have said, he has midfield attributes also. Reminds me a bit of Deledio

This Grigg will put our Grigg out of a job quick smart :lol :lol

Re Docherty......don't mind his pace and skills but the kid is a whippet fiora style and dosnt look like he has the frame that fill out! I don't think we should risk it with 15, we need bigger bodies in the long run ;)

Same for me. To me the bloke looks like Deledio in every way so he could slot into that HBF position straight away and Deledio moves up. I know every one is going on about a pure inside mid and for good reason... But I'm sold by that foot and speed.  :pray

I reckon that Ellis fella looks alright too. But for what it's worth I'd be pretty stoked with just about any of the names that are commonly mentioned.

Strong-bodied mids do.

Elliot Kavanagh, if available, would be the best mid for us. Quick, great footy brain, clean hands. If he is there at 15 we'd be mad to pass him up!
OER. Calling it as it is since 2004.

^ agree mate - would love him to still be available at 15...most phantom's have him going higher (many predicting top 10) but since he did have some hammy issues there is the possibility that he might drift down a bit further...if there for our pick we'd have to snaffle him...

Hey guys, Kavanagh suits our needs perfectly i think he will turn out to be an a-grader to play with dusty and cotch for sure. hopefully grigg can somehow survive to 26 as a lot of people think, rate him a lot higher then that personally

Kavanagh was seen as a top 5 pick at the start of the season, had hamstring problems and missed out on a large chunk of the season but when he came in late in the season dominated
