BRANDON Ellis and Billie Smedts are drawing punters' attention as potential Rising Star winners, despite neither having played a senior game.

Ellis, who was taken with pick 15 by Richmond in last year's national draft, has been backed from $81 to $41 with both Sportingbet Australia and sportsbet.com.au.
