God speed, John Paul

Not religious, and definitely not a Catholic, but still feel a great attachment to this man.  Don’t agree with a lot of his beliefs, but have to respect him for living his life according to his own consciousness. How anyone can devote their entire life to their beliefs, to me, is extraordinary.

What do Catholics think of his achievements during his papacy?  Has he managed to further cement your faith or otherwise?  Is the Catholic religion stronger because of him?

I don’t understand religion and what drives people this way.  How people can fall back on religion for support is incomprehensible to me – I don’t understand it and how it helps.  I don’t have a spiritual bone in my body, although my best friend is deeply religious.  She has told me more than once that she prays for me daily.  Why? lol

If this is it for him, I hope it is peaceful and the legacies of his great life are remembered and celebrated.

One incident rocked my faith more than any other: The pope owning a Ferrari
