Newman on SEN @ 4.10pm
« on: April 26, 2012, 05:01:31 PM »
Newy was on SEN just after 4pm today with Schwarz and co. ...

* Another huge challenge for us this week. The Eagles are flying at the moment. Hopefully the fans can come along and make it difficult for them.

* Agreed with Mooney that we've played 3/4ers of games so far. There's still that lack of consistency. We can't afford to do that this week as West Coast has the players to cut you open. We feel we are improving and bridging that gap with the top sides.

* Asked about head high tackles? You can apply the right tackle technique but if the player is clever and good enough to lower his body he can get the free and there's not much you can do about it. Best solution is to win the ball yourself and avoid that situation.

* We feel we have a lot more to give as senior players and that includes himself. Jack and TV will be right. We burnt them early in the season with poor delivery to them but we are slowly fixing that.

* Very hard to play against NicNat (due to his athleticism) and Cox. We need to be mindful of Cox's movement around the ground as he can get out the back. Hopefully we can nullify their impact.

* Laughed about Cotch having a cry about the bear hugs. Dimma walked past Newy during the interview and Newy said he should get the coach to answer the question as he made the comment (laughs). Cotch is a quality player and will get around it and win his share of frees.

* Talked about the Kumho fitting tyres day and wearing a pink shirt. All for a good cause.
