We will be comfortably beaten by West Coast at the weekend.
Are you serious?

It's a hard task but I doubt that any REAL Tiger SUPPORTER will think that we will be "COMFORTABLY BEATEN".

GET ON BOARD Rodge. The ride will be amazing.

I admire your eternal optimisim, it is what has served us for thirty years. Don't ever lose it.

Thanks Rodge. I hope you get the joy you seek WHEN we get to show the rest of the AFL who really rules the JUNGLE.

How far away are we?

Fathoms...
Wow, a big word.

Do you what it means or are you just ignorant of the OBVIOUS IMPROVEMENT of our Mighty Tigers?

Bloody hell Ekto are you having a crack habit day or what, or did you get laid for the first time last night??

I don't need crack or smut to get excited about the Tiger prospects.

We suggest you set out to get along with other posters on this site, and avoid criticism of crack or smut.
I am strong enough to NOT NEED the SUPPORT of FOOLS.

I set out to show how REAL TIGER SUPPORTERS, and I stress the word, SUPPORTERS, should behave, in every situation.

I grew up in a Magpie dominated area and I couldn't believe the crap that they dished out to some of the finest players ever to pull on the boots for THEIR club.

I am disappointed that so called Tiger fans lower themselves to the same standards.

Wow.

I give you credit for your double edged question.

1. He knows but he has never listened to my crap.

2. I'm not drunk, just suitably imbibed to get into you so-called supporters who constantly knock RICHMOND.

Do you really think that he would read the crap that is dished out on well meaning footy forums? Especially what I type.
He knows how much crap I speak about with footy.

If you think he cares, ask him when you lean over the fence and ask him to give you the footy after a win.

No guts no glory.

When the ANZACS marched up the hills at Gallipoli, did they ask whether it would lead to a victory? NO, because they knew in their own hearts, that they were marching to victory, regardless of the result.

That is what we Tigers need to embrace.

Abracadabra........you got me in one.

I've put a new engine on the boat and I can get down to 2 knots on the troll and the results have been impressive.

I'll ask him when I'm next down Coburg way.

But in all seriousness, he is one lad I do not mind, despite his obvious limitations as a footballer. Hope he has a bit more impact this week.

Gerkin, I am with you. I also hope he has more impact this week.

I'd love to catch up with you down Coburg way one day, but not too soon. :)

So, as a relatively new fan I was thinking the other night about RFC. How far do you guys things we are from finals footy? I know there are some issues we need to work out (forwards, Jacko, Edwards)  and that our team is still young but would you say in a year or two we should be there? How talented is the team now compared to teams since Richmond's drought started? Sorry for all the newbie questions guys but I'm just really wanting to learn as much as I can about the club.

To answer you IMHO, we are an average talent team that is youngish and we might (prob 50% chance this year) make the finals this year or next (maybe 60% chance) or maybe neither depending on how players develop.  While we may make the finals this year or next I'm not too worried as it took Bomber Thompson 3-5 years to seriously improve Geelong, which basically put 110 games into their backline.  And our backline is a real work in progress, we still don't have a centre half back to speak of.

But most importantly the administration is on the right path.  Its about members and money and directing the spend.

1. The recruiting spend has improved.
2. The development coach spend has increased.
3. The membership has increased.
4. I wouldn't be surprised if our total turnover has grown significantly.
5. I bet our sport science spend has increased too.
6. Our facilities have improved.

Eventually we need to increase our medical spend too.

I really feel for the first time in years we are on the right path to ongoing improvement.  While the same old lines were said under Frawley and Wallace, this time the focus is on becoming an off field success which will translate to on field.

Also the coaching and recruiting team have proved they aren't idiots by

1. Identifying our list holes and plugging them with the best option we could find.
i.e. Recruiting for the backline Batchelor, The ruck Maric
2. Identifying the current collision nature of footy and recruiting heavier bodies accordingly.  Griggs
3. Improving and developing younger players like Rance, Cotchin
4. Offloading players who couldn't make it, there are many here.
5. Recruiting a pile of average potentials and then culling if they don't make it. Nason,
We probably will cull a few young one this year if they don't improve.

Now that's the normal process, or should be but I reckon its the first time we have done it at Richmond.  Under Frawley we had top up drafts and under Wallace we had a badly under staffed recruiting department.

If Hardwick has done any errors it probably was to not immediately swap out the backline players who won't make it like Thursfield or McGuane.  We still don't have a fully settled backline and once we do, we need to put games into them and time might run out on Hardwick to do so.

I think our list has less holes in it than under Wallace and our skill level is much better than under Frawley.  I don't think our list is as talented as 95 but our admin is much better so we are less likely to self destruct and might genuinely build.

Seriously, could anybody really think that we should be in a better position than we are at this stage of the season. We have played bloody good finals teams apart from melb so far.At this  stage I had us 1- 4.But still had us just making finals. I can count 12 wins this season providing we don't lose winable games like we did last year to Gold coast in Cairns and Port in Darwin.Although I haven't picked Richmond this week ( which I am about to change) I really think that we can beat the eagles here in Melb.Remember we aren't playing that bad of footy just minutes of lapses which all teams have.Wouldnt it be great if our forwards could just improve even 40 percent then I am certain we would be able to kick a winning score and our season would be under way with a lot of wins coming.
