June 07, 2012 HE'S only a day old but Richmond's newest No.4 has just become the football club's smallest member.
Weighing little more than 2kg, Dustin Tiger Craigie is the size of a Sherrin and a few years shy of donning his own black and yellow jersey.
But, like his onfield namesake, midfielder Dustin Martin, parents Rod and Sally have high hopes for their own young gun.
"We were sitting in a wine bar in Richmond going through the names of Richmond players. There was a chance it was going to be Trent (after Trent Cotchin)," proud dad Rod Craigie said.
But new mum Sally had the final say: "I liked Dustin. I love the meaning, which is 'warrior'."
Within hours family friend David Faulkes had signed the future footy star on as Richmond's 50,000th member.
The Tigers star visited his young protege at the couple's bedside in the Epworth Freemasons maternity unit.
"To have someone name their child after me is a real honour. It was great to visit little Dustin in hospital and meet such a passionate Richmond family," he said.
