Funny how Meyer lined up in his first game on the very player he was compared to before the draft in Wanganeen.

This was the first I had seen of Meyer and I was impressed by what I saw. He comes across as one of those players that are relaxed and go about their footy as if effortlessly.

Showed great composure for a first gamer i thought.

Tambling was fumbling a bit but he shows good determination and his reflexes look top notch. Will be a very good wing/half forward for us in the future I think.

Agree John.  Meyer is very composed and will be a consistent no frills player for us - similar to Newman.  Tambling on the other hand will be the excitement machine who will do the un-do-able and make the easy look difficult, similar to Richo.
Does anyone have half an idea on anything?

Tambling was quiet this week but I thought Meyer for only his second game was very good today after half time when Terry experimented in some positions and had him on the ball. Very classy and smart with his disposal and whatsmore doesn't mind putting his body in to win the footy despite his still light frame. Once he gets a couple of preseasons under his belt in the gym so he won't be pushed off the ball he'll be a good pickup for us.

Once Meyer bulks up watch out.  He was great today.  He has natural instincts and is in the Chris Newman mould in that he has such clean hands, great balance, poise, vision and skill.  We definately have a player here.

Tambling was ok today but not as good a last week.  He needs to slow down a bit as he tends to over run the ball alot, similar to what a young Maxfield used to do.  Tambo needs to work on his poise and composure, otherwise he has everything else.
