Damien Hardwick's men were a valuable source of points last season – led by elite performers Trent Cotchin, Shane Tuck and Brett Deledio, the Tigers ranked No.1 in the competition for total disposals. With a climb up the ladder widely expected, don't hesitate to jump on again this year; after all, more wins for the team generally means more AFL Fantasy points for the players. The Tigers are stacked with talent at the top end, but keep an eye out for a bargain or two as well. In particular, their first draft pick Nick Vlastuin has impressed in the pre-season and should vie for a senior game.
- Mark Macgugan

Trent Cotchin
2012 AFL Fantasy average score: 111
2013 AFL Fantasy Dream Team price: $570,200
2013 AFL Fantasy position: Mid
Mr Fantasy says: A genuine superstar of the game after an amazing 2012, where he was the sixth-highest Dream Team scorer. Another big year awaits.

Brett Deledio
2012 average score: 110
2013 price: $568,600
2013 position: Mid
Mr Fantasy says: Perfect pick-up last season as a backman, when he averaged more than 110. This year he’s available as a midfielder only. Still a great choice.

Shane Tuck
2012 average score: 105
2013 price: $538,900
2013 position: Mid
Mr Fantasy says: Just keeps on keeping on. His value increased by $139,400 by the end of 2012 after he returned some big scores. No reason he won't do it again.

Shaun Grigg
2012 average score: 98
2013 price: $505,100
2013 position: Mid
Mr Fantasy says: Is great at finding space, which equates to some very handy scores. Not cheap but looks set for a big season.

Ivan Maric
2012 average score: 98
2013 price: $505,400
2013 position: Ruck
Mr Fantasy says: The cult hero at Richmond averaged almost 100 in 2012, very good for a ruckman. Will cost you this time around but can score very well.

Jack Riewoldt
2012 average score: 80
2013 price: $413,100
2013 position: Fwd
Mr Fantasy says: I think we all know what to expect from Jack. The unexpected. When he is on he is brilliant (147 points against St Kilda in round 13) and on off days (33 against Collingwood in round two) he is really poor.

Bachar Houli
2012 average score: 79
2013 price: $407,200
2013 position: Def
Mr Fantasy says: Averaged almost 80 in 2012 and was consistent throughout. You'd expect a similar average this season.

Dustin Martin
2012 average score: 85
2013 price: $437,100
2013 position: Mid/Fwd
Mr Fantasy says: With an average of almost 85 and the promise of further improvement, Martin could be one of the better pick-ups in 2013.

Alex Rance
2012 average score: 71
2013 price: $367,900
2013 position: Def
Mr Fantasy says: Free-wheeling defender who can score well but failed to reach triple figures after round seven last season. Pass.

Chris Newman
2012 average score: 71
2013 price: $365,300
2013 position: Def
Mr Fantasy says: Like Rance, doesn't push over the 100-point mark often enough to be a great Dream Team selection.
