Anyone reckon they can do a Greek Euro Job and come from Nowhere in September to pinch it?

My expectations hinge on the next match against Melbourne. If we win then we are going to be two matches ahead of the fourth placed team and I would be seriously thinking we are a chance for a top 4 finish.

If we get beat, then it would bring us back to the back slightly and I wouldn't be dissapointed with top 8.

I actually think that the % is the most accurate gauge of how you are going with respect to the other teams, and I think our current % is indicative of our team - solid but not yet in the top echelon. As an example, In 2002 and 2004 we were 4-4 after 8 rounds, yet our % was 86% and 81%.

I'm hoping we can arrse it because I think we will drop off next year.

A lot of things are going right for us this year, new fresh start, everyone is vibed with the new coaching staff, confidence is high, not a lot of serious injuries to key players, winning a lot of games by the odd kick that we could have just as easily have lost etc.

Kind of reminiscent of 95. Even if we do make the finals and finish top 4 I'd expect us to get exposed just as we did in 95 and 2001 because we are still carrying a lot of players who are suspect.

I just can't see how we can win a flag with names like Tivendale, Chaffey, Krakouer, Pettifer, Hall, Knobel, Graham and a lot of first year players that are likely to drop off as the rigours of the year catch up with them.

Would love to see it happen, but it won't.

Wishful thinking but it's been a season of weird results and upsets. The Cats seem to be the only reliable side at the moment. Come to think of it we're probably next in line  ;).

Most premiership sides don't make their run until the second half of the year so you normally take results early on in the year with a grain of salt. If we're still winning like this later on in the year (and we've got a pretty tough draw with a few interstate games) then I think we can only then think about going places in September.

Next year like John said we might dip backwards as the element of suprise won't be there.

Kind of reminiscent of 95. Even if we do make the finals and finish top 4 I'd expect us to get exposed just as we did in 95 and 2001 because we are still carrying a lot of players who are suspect.

Geelong was the only side we got really pumped by in 95 and this year we're both up there again and they've done us over once already. It would be nice if they choked in the finals so we avoided playing them on current form.
