Champion Data discussion about the Tigers
« on: June 20, 2013, 03:26:14 PM »
Luffy from Champion Data was on SEN with host and Tiger supporter Tony Schibeci just before 2pm:

* Tigers could possibly finish top 4 with their run home.

* Thereabouts last year but didn't have the polish to finish off games (a bit like North this year).

* Essendon in 1998 is the closest to Richmond we (Champion Data) have seen and we know what happened with Essendon following 1998.

* Tigers have strong Champion Data stats:
- Points against is 74 (4th best in comp.). Best for a Richmond side in the 15-20 years Champion Data have been doing stats.
- 3rd lowest in tackles but that's improved in the last few weeks. Richmond defend a bit differently. They hold onto ball which helps their defence.
- 3rd hardest to goal/score against in last 6 weeks.
- 2nd best at scoring from stoppages.
- Best in clearances.

* It's coming together for Richmond. All those 1st round picks plus filling in the gaps with players they've brought in. They will make the Eight this year.

Accept do not have the core of the list that have played in a premiership and multiple finals campaigns.

Need finals hardness and a September game plan that will hold up under intense scrutiny.
