At the moment we lack a good Centre Half Foward. Simmonds is doing well put we need to prepare for future seasons. I think we should groom Adam Pattison to be our next big mobile foward. He is about as tall as Ashley Hansen (WC) and Henry Playfair (GEE) and from the results at last years draft he has a big engine. :thumbsup

He is being groomed as our next CHF/Ruck as far as i can tell!

He played his junior footy at CHF aswel IIRC.

He's 198cm, a tad taller then Simmonds and he could grow a bit taller.

Pattison and Sarge look like our next forwards coming through. Pattison as a CHF/ruck and Sarge at CHF/FF.

I think key defenders are of more urgency. Gas and Kellaway although in awesome form are nearing the end of their careers and Graham was recruited as a stop gap measure as a mature body.

As for our other talls, McGuane and Limbach are both definetly only forward prospects (both about 192cm, played forward in juniors) while Archibald seems to play everywhere, and doesn't have a settled position.

Thursfield and Moore are the only two guys that i can think of that could be future defenders, but considering they both were/are rookies, we might be in a bit of trouble in a couple of years.

Thursfield is a LONG way off playing seniors IMO.

Agree Razorblade.

Being rookie listed I reckon it is fair to say that Thursfield is a long term project.

Well i know his undersized, hence needs a while to bulk up, but he was barely passable in today's game, so it will be a while before we see him in a Richmond guernsey, based on today's game.

IIRC, he got BOG in the Coburg reserves last week, and while that is another step down in grade, maybe he just had a bad game by his standards today?  ???

There is no reason why Limbach and Mcguane couldn't be defenders , granted i haven't seen much of them..

If either of them end up making it i would actually think it is likely to be as defenders...

How serious is McGuane's broken arm? He's still listed as indefinite on our injury list :(.

Just talk amongst supporters. His body type and size is similar to Libba who cameback in the same year after doing his knee.
