this is the exact right time to add another 4 or  5 teenagers through the draft to the list. Keep on building on the base that's been created.

is it me or is there an abundunce of inane reporting going on.
will give an example.
poor old stk i would think their future is really bleak going y that garbage. but if i add 5 or 6 kids that have played a fair bit of footy this yr for them then id say they wpould field one of the younger teams.
why do we put up with such lazy one dimensionl reporting. just another reason that turns one away from the game, iots actually insulting ones intelligence.

thank god im in perth where i dont reqad the paper or have to put up with the constant diahorrea from news outlets.

why do you say that. they have 26 players born from 1990 and after. yes they have 7 players who turn 30 or more this yr and they wont all go at the same time.  if they transition well they can stay up.
at the start of the yr their ave list age was haw 23yr/349d v rich 24yr/54d they actually have a younger overall list.

acres, billings, saunders, templeton, dunstan, pierce, webster, roberton, hickey did not play, most are injured and none are older than 23. what does those inclusions do to stkildas ave age.

the saints ave age over the last 4 or so weeks has dramatically risen because of injuries and a drop off in form from youngsters forcing them to field older sides and their two oldest sides for the yr in the last two weeks. and this nuff nuff journalist uses these stats.

how silly is it to infer something on one very small sample of the whole,just  one week when you play your oldest team  and infer some sort of dilemma.whats amazing is people lap it up.
what will hayes and most likely jones, and schnieders retirements do to their overall age next yr as well as the inclusion of most of those kids back into their team. i know lets do a one off week then and boy watch out out for the inevitable massive change.

oh and finally at the start of 14/3/14 kick off to the season stkildas ave age for their list was 22yrs/ 343 days, ours was 24yrs/54days.

i will say again why people read such garbage is beyond me

Hawks have shown time and again they have an incredible ability to transition a rebuild. Wouldnt expect them to drop much or at the very least not for very long

reckon there is a lot of hang ups with mature players. yet the average number of players who turn 30 this yr at each club is 5.
at richmond we have just 4 and i think we will retire or delist 3 of them in king, stephenson, a edwards, personally i would have liked to see newman retire as well because i think his out put and leadership on field is lacking.

its been my opinion that we can and should target QUALITY players  if they can serve a purpose. ie chapman, goddard.
MATURE PLAYERS AND VETS IMO ARE THE MOST VALUABLE COMMODITY A CLUB CAN HAVE IF THOSE PLAYERS ARE QUALITY PLAYERS AND LEADERS..
Whoops sorry caps again personally i would have no problem if we had 7 players aged between 29 plus like hawthorn does like geelong do like syd do. they have very good players in this area who set the tone and standard, they lead and instruct and allow for smooth transition.
people are wrong in getting hung up on age.  it is all about list balance and ensuring there is always experienced leaders showing the way. YOU ONLY NEED LOOK AT HAT HAPPENED TO MELBOURNE WHEN THEY SHED THEIR MATURE PLAYERS, balance the list properly and there will always be leaders and smooth transitions.

heres a list of the number of players who turn 30 yrs old at each club. plus the ave age of each club at the start of the yr. as it stands we have fewer than most clubs regarding 30 yr olds but are one of the older lists. this says to me we have a good number of players aged between 24 and 29.

St kilda and hawthorn have several of the oldest players in the list in the best 18/22. Richmond has the majority of its talented playes in the young and middle age bracket.

Outside of deledio. Maric. Foley. Houli. There is very little talent on the richmond list in the 26 years and older bracket. Where as other teams, seem to have a great number of talent and leadership in regards to mature players - we do not. Imo
