Trent Cotchin was also planning to develop his game further — the 25-year old is entering his fourth season as club captain.
"There's certainly been plenty of lessons I've learned along the way and I'm not sure I'll stop learning to be honest," he said.
"It's one of those things where each day has a different lesson in every little step that you take.
"I'm enjoying the captaincy, there's challenges but there's also a lot of rewards.
"Seeing the team succeed will be the biggest reward for me."
After suffering three successive elimination final losses, Cotchin didn't hold back when asked what the Tigers needed to do to break their finals curse.
"You need to play four quarters of footy to win a game," he said.
"In those finals, I don't think we would have played one single quarter.
"We know exactly what's expected, what's required, we just need to make sure we tick the boxes come game day."
