Todd Grima as a Tiger Rookie

In the rookie draft, if still available we must draft Todd Grima. We only picked up one tall (in Hughes) in the draft where we should have gotten 2 at least. Grima is tall, fast, strong and pretty well built. And a +side is that he isn't a project player, just unlucky not to be drafted

Grima is NOT well built, he is a sknny kid who'll need a couple of pre-seasons.

He is a bit of the prototypical forward in tat his tall and athletic but he really hasn't dome much besides that 10 goal haul against 180cm defenders!

Wouldn't be unhappy if we rookied him though!

I would be...I dont think hes up  to it...and we already have McGuane and Limbach who will be under major pressure this year to show something!

I still reckon there is a good chance we will rookie one of the Coburg boys - either Sylvester or Rimmington.

RT - I think he is up to it, and you can never have enough talls, that and his not the Limbach/McGuane type 3rd tall forward type, his more of a genuine KPP.

WP - I wouldn't be ruling it out at all!

Next years draft is where we need to finish low...and get a Thorp or a Gumbleton...thats the type of KPP you need to win flags.

Graeme Roberston, No 24 a 197cm ruckman who played 51 senior games, and described as a "steady player who was reliable and very mobile for his size" and as the brother in law of Jim Jess by the 'Tigers of Old'.

I will also add Luke McEntee (ruckman), Matt Seal (midfielder/forward) and Tom Dean (defender/midfielder) to my rookie wish list in their respective order.

McEntee was surprisingly passed on in the national draft after being rated by many as one of the best ruck prospects this year. He would be a good addition to our rookie list as he would become another developing ruckman with plenty of potential.

It would be more realistic of us getting Seal with our 2nd rookie pick rather than our 3rd (because I can’t see us getting McEntee with our 2nd). I cannot believe Seal missed being drafted in the main draft. Seal has good pace, skills and IMO should have gotten an All-Australian Jersey this year as his efforts were very exceptional. From 3 matches he kicked 5 goals (including a bag of 4) and was among the best 3 times including BOG against Vic Country.

Would prefer another tall if we had a 4th rookie pick (maybe Adam Prior from NSW) but at this pick IMO there are no more decent talls. Tom Dean doesn’t seem to be one anyone’s radar except Weavers. I haven’t seen the kid myself but Weaver’s bio sounds promising. Dean’s a back-pocket specialist (what we need), counter-attacks well and has good skills, only downside (in Weaver’s view) is he lacks the type of pace Wallace is after.
