Richmond struggling due to "Negative momentum": Lethal
« on: April 19, 2016, 02:46:38 AM »
On Ch 7, they asked Leigh Matthews about why Richmond is struggling and Lethal put it down to what he called "Negative momentum". The loss to Collingwood has caused a significant loss of confidence. It's one thing to have external noises criticising and doubting you, but when you start losing faith in yourself, what you're doing, and in each other, then it builds its own negative momentum. It will eventually turn around but it's going to be a few tough weeks for the Tigers until it does.

Nick Maxwell said it's a horrible feeling and the only way out of it is controlling what you can control. You can't control outside forces but you can control working harder on the training track, working harder during games, and working harder as a team to turn things around.

Rubbish. It's called being a bunch of scared little introverts who can't handle a bit of criticism.

Weak as pee the lot of them, led by the their equally weak coach. For this reason you see them bounce back when no pressure is on them to perform.

Currently a member of the Roupies, and employed by the great man Roup.

He has identified the problem the RFC has had for 30 years.

Unaccountable as men in supposed elite physical and mental condition for the game.

Supported by a culture of excuses, PR scriptings, smoke and mirrors.

l put it down to too many squibs who fail to put the body on the line. Not using their own football smarts. You don't need players directing the ball from behind when moving forward. The players up the field need to present themselves, Not wait for the ball to be kicked. Be on the move from back to forward & back again. Too many players looking at the interchange wanting to come off when a goal is scored. Stay on & let the adrenalin flow & kick another. GET BACK TO PLAYING FOOTBALL  :banghead There was way more energy being used in my day on the field. Today footballers are weak

Too stationary when a defender gets a mark in the backline, we all just stop and stand.  Makes it bloody easy to cover us and intercept any longer kicks because no one is on space.

I can't believe we recruit squibs.
I can believe that we develop them though... :banghead
