Dimma just gave his post-match presser:

* Mark Stevens asked Dimma, "Are you satisfied [with that win]?"
We won ugly. All credit to Essendon. They won tackle count 41-71, their pressure around the contest was good and they thrashed us in clearances. We moved the ball ugly at times but we got the job done.

* North are a fantastic side. A challenge for us but we're looking forward to it.

* Dusty was scratchy early - handballs were off and he got caught a couple of times. He was very good after half-time. Dimma praised both Dusty and Cotch.

* [On Dusty again] He's in career best form but he's still got improvement left in him. 24-25 year this year. Being crying out for that inside mid.

* Brett (Deledio) finished with 3. Important player to us as he links the midfield and forwards. Ball use was once again excellent. Getting back to his best which is exciting for us.

* Essendon average 100 uncontested marks. We aimed to keep that to 70. We were defensively off at stages. We had players down at half-time but they lifted. Disappointed with our finish. Got areas to work on.

* Jack saying it'll be 30 and sunny in Hobart lol.

--------------------------------------------

After a slow start to the season, the Tigers are starting to build momentum with three wins in a row.

But they face a huge test on Friday night, against a rebounding Kangaroos side.

"North are an outstanding side, and played a pretty competitive game against Sydney on their home deck, which is tough," Hardwick said.

"They'll be disappointed but they are a fantastic side and are playing as good a footy as anyone in the competition. It's going to be a big challenge for us but we're looking forward to it.

"We've had three wins on the trot, but we're excited to go up against the team that's sitting on top of the ladder."

Win was ‘ugly’, but bring on Kangas

Herald-Sun
29 May 2016

AFTER winning “ugly” against Essendon, Richmond coach Damien Hardwick says he is keenly awaiting the challenge ladder-leader North Melbourne presents on Friday night.

Hardwick said he wasn’t “overly pleased” with his side’s 16.9 (105) to 10.7 (67) win over the Bombers in front of 56,948 fans at the MCG.

But the coach said a third-straight success is at least a far cry from his side’s disappointing 1-6 start to the season.

“We won ugly so to speak, but all credit to Essendon,” Hardwick said.

“I thought their pressure around the ball was very good, I think tackles were 44-71. They sweated on us and we probably coughed up a few.

“So we weren’t overly pleased with our performance. We were good enough to get the four points, but we’ve got some work to do, there’s no doubt about that.

“I thought we didn’t move the ball overly well at various stages, but we were good enough get the job done and we’re starting to see a bit of improvement which is good.”

In what will be the AFL’s first-ever Friday night game at Hobart’s Blundstone Arena, North will head in to the contest on the back of its first loss of the season.

Despite its slow start, Richmond now approaches the eagerly-anticipated match within reach of the top eight.

“North are an outstanding side,” Hardwick said.

“They played a pretty competitive game against Sydney on Friday night — Sydney on their home deck is always tough.

“They’ll be disappointed after that result, but they’re a fantastic side playing as good footy as anyone in the competition.

“It’ll be a really great challenge for us, but we’re looking forward to it. That’s three wins on the trot now for us, but we’re looking forward to going up against the side that’s on top of the ladder.”

Forward Ty Vickery kicked three goals, as too did Brett Deledio to go with 23 possessions.

Captain Trent Cotchin (29 disposals and two goals) was also a standout, but it was Dustin Martin, with 38 touches, who won the Yiooken Award for best afield.

“I thought he was a bit scratchy early,” Hardwick said of Martin.

“Probably handballing a bit too much and got tackled two or three times.

“His metres gained in the first half was pretty low, but after half time we started to see a better result from that.

“He’s an incredible athlete, some of his contested ball gets were very good where he takes on two or three players and delivers the ball out of traffic.

“You can’t put a value on those sorts of players.”

And you may not think I care for you
When you know down inside that I really do

lol

that intros stupidity cracks me up every time
“For My thoughts are not your thoughts,
Nor are your ways my ways,” says the Lord.

“For as the heavens are higher than the earth,
So are my ways higher than your ways,
And my thoughts than your thoughts."
